The Canton Riez is a French constituency in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It comprises 26 municipalities in the arrondissements of Castellane , Digne-les-Bains and Forcalquier and has its bureau centralisateur in Riez .
Communities
The canton consists of 26 municipalities with a total of 9,415 inhabitants (as of 2017) on a total area of 952.03 km 2 :
Until the reorganization, the nine municipalities Allemagne-en-Provence , Esparron-de-Verdon , Montagnac-Montpezat , Puimoisson , Quinson , Riez , Roumoules , Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon and Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon belonged to the canton of Riez . Its layout corresponded to an area of 253.55 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 0421. After the reorganization, all municipalities of the dissolved cantons Barrême , Mézel and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie belong to the canton of Riez.
