Montagnac-Montpezat is a French municipality , with 424 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the canton of Valensole in the Forcalquier arrondissement . The inhabitants call themselves the Montagnacais and the Montpezatiens . The neighboring municipalities are Riez in the north, Roumoules in the northeast, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon in the east, Baudinard-sur-Verdon in the southeast, Artignosc-sur-Verdon in the south, Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon and Esparron-de- Verdon in the southwest and Allemagne-en-Provence in the west.

Montagnac-Montpezat was created on January 1st, 1974 by merging Montpezat and Montagnac. According to the 1968 census, the former had eight and the latter 185 inhabitants.
