geography
Pierrevert is located about 65 kilometers north of Marseille and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Manosque in the north and east, Sainte-Tulle in the south-east, Corbières-en-Provence and Beaumont-de-Pertuis in the south, and La Bastide-des-Jourdans in the west and south-west as well as Montfuron in the northwest.
Pierrevert is known for the wine-growing region Coteaux de Pierrevert (AOC protected designation of origin).
history
There were already settlements here in Roman times and after the conquest by the Ostrogoths. The first priory of the Abbey of Saint-André in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon existed here from the 12th century.
