Career
Kip Brennan began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active from 1996 to 2001 for the Windsor Spitfires and Sudbury Wolves . During this period he was also selected in the fourth round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the 103rd player of the Los Angeles Kings . For the Kings farm team , the Lowell Lock Monsters from the American Hockey League , he made his debut in senior professional hockey in the 2000/01 season . In the following three years, the winger played parallel for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League and their new farm team Manchester Monarchs in the AHL.
On March 9, 2004, Brennan was given to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Jeff Cowan . For this he was on the ice in five NHL games by the end of the 2003/04 season . During the NHL lockout , he spent the 2004/05 season with Atlanta's farm team Chicago Wolves in the AHL. After resumption of the NHL game operations he was transferred to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for Mark Popovic in August 2005 . In the Californians, however, he could not prevail and played only twelve games in the entire NHL season for the Mighty Ducks, and nine for their AHL farm team Portland Pirates . The Canadian started the 2006/07 season with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL and later played for their league rivals Hershey Bears and the Long Beach Ice Dogs in the ECHL .
On July 3, 2007, Brennan signed a contract as a free agent with the New York Islanders . They also used him predominantly in their AHL farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers , while he himself completed three more NHL games for New York. For the 2008/09 season Brannen moved to Europe, where he was obliged by the HIFK Helsinki from the Finnish SM-liiga . After three assists in 22 games for the capital club, he returned to his ex-AHL team from Hershey, with whom he won the Calder Cup at the end of the season. He also played three times for their cooperation partner South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL. The 2009/10 season completed the left shooter with the Springfield Falcons in the AHL.
The 2010/11 season began Brennan with the Allen Americans in the Central Hockey League . For his new team, he scored 21 scorer points in 31 games, eight of which were goals, which was a new personal record in his professional career for him. In late February 2011 he was loaned to his ex-club Chicago Wolves from the AHL, but returned to the Allen Americans for the CHL playoffs.
In mid-August 2011 Brennan was signed by Vitjas Chekhov from the Continental Hockey League .
