The church district Syke-Hoya is a church district within the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover . It belongs to the district of Osnabrück . For Kirchenkreis Syke Hoya are about 90,000 church members in 29 congregations . The seat of the church district is Syke . Jörn-Michael Schröder has been the superintendent since 2009.
geography
The church district is located in the center of Lower Saxony . It comprises the north-eastern part of the Diepholz district and the northern part of the Nienburg / Weser district . There are two parishes in the Oldenburg district . The area of the church district essentially corresponds to the former county of Hoya County .
history
The church district was created in 2001 by merging the church districts Hoya and Syke, which belonged to the Calenberg-Hoya district , which was dissolved in 2007 .
