Kliening is a place in the Lavanttal in Lower Carinthia , and a place and cadastral municipality of the town of Bad St. Leonhard in Lavanttal in the Wolfsberg district , Carinthia .
geography
Kliening is the westernmost part of the municipality Bad St. Leonhard. It lies in a small right side valley of the Lavant , which branches off at Wiesenau a little south of the city and then leads over the Klippitztörl into the Görtschitz valley .
The village, with almost 230 buildings with around 670 inhabitants, includes the Rotte Kliening itself, the Hofbauersiedlung ( Wiesenau ) settlement and the scattered houses Gaisegg , Hermansberg , Kreuzberg , Schattberg , as well as a number of individual locations .
The cadastral community borders on Reichenfels (market community) in the north, Bad St. Leonhard (town) in the east, Twimberg in the south-east, Wolfsberg (township) in the south and the Hüttenberg (market town) in the west:

Name and story
The name Kliening goes back to the former name of the village Klenich . It is derived from the Slovenian word hlevnice , which means something like ' stable village '.
The formerly independent municipality was with the local government reform in 1973 - with parts of graves-Prebl for - Bad Sankt Leonhard incorporated.
Kliening town center
The center of Kliening is formed by the Fatima Church in the north and the main building of the Kliening volunteer fire brigade . The Kärntner Landesstraße L91, the Klippitztörl Straße, runs right through the center of the village.
