Kożuchy Małe ( German  Klein Kosuchen ) is a settlement ( Polish osada ) in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Giżycko ( rural community Lötzen ) in the powiat Giżycki (district Lötzen ).

Geographical location

Kożuchy Małe is located in the north-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, six kilometers east of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) .

history

The Gutsdorf Klein Kosuchen was incorporated into the newly established administrative district Sulimmen ( Sulimy in Polish ) in 1874. He belonged to the circle Lötzen in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905 and 1945 was: administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1818 36 residents were still registered in Klein Kosuchen, but their number rose to 69 by 1910.

On February 17, 1920 the manor district Klein Kosuchen gave up its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Groß Kosuchen ( Polish Kożuchy Wielkie ).

As a result of the war, the village came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name "Kożuchy Małe". Today the place is included in the Schulzenamt (Polish sołectwo) Kożuchy Wielkie and a place in the network of Gmina Giżycko (rural municipality Lötzen ) in powiat Giżycki (district Lötzen ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship.

Religions

Until 1945 Klein Kosuchen was parish in the Evangelical Parish Church of Lötzen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Kożuchy Małe belongs to the Evangelical Parish Church in Giżycko in the Masuria Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and to the Catholic Parish in Bystry (Biestern) with the branch parish in Upałty Małe (Klein Upalten) in the Diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .
