Koxödt is a scattered settlement in the Strudengau in Lower Austria and belongs to the municipality of Neustadtl an der Donau in the Amstetten district .

geography

The place is located about 10 kilometers northeast of Amstetten , just under 3 km east of Neustadtl . The scattered houses are in the Neustadtler Platte at around 400  m above sea level. A. Höhe, about 1½ kilometers to the right (south) from the Danube at Freyenstein , roughly 150 meters above the river. The scattered layers include the western slopes of the Kürnberg  ( 428  m above sea level ), the mountain above the Danube near Freyenstein.

The location includes just under 1 dozen houses.

The town is crossed by the L 91 (Amstetten - Ybbs a. D. Donau ) between Hainstetten and Freyenstein, and the L 6023 that crosses them here from Unterholz via Oberholz - Dörfl to the L 91 and from there via Koxödt to the L 6024 (Freyenstein - Neustadtl) at the Lindmühl.

geology

The area consists of Weinsberg granite , while the fine-grain granite around Freyenstein adjoins it to the east. The mighty Ardagger - Yspertal valley runs directly to the north near the Lindmühle .

Tourism and sightseeing

The area is a good hiking area, so several hiking or cycling trails lead through Koxödt, such as the Donau-Höhen-Rundwanderweg  (452, stage Neustadtl - Ardagger Markt). or the Mostviertel cycle route number 12 From river to river in Mostbirnland ( Ennsdorf - Freyenstein)

A Germanic-Celtic sacrificial stone is located southeast of the village .

Koxödt lies completely in protected landscape Strudengau and the surrounding area  ( LSG 15 ) and is of the edge zone of the European reserve Strudengau-Nibelungengau  ( FFH , AT1217A00 / 17 enclosed).
