Jan Kudra

Jan Antoni Kudra (born July 5, 1937 in Łódź ) is a former Polish cyclist. He was a member of the clubs Gwardia Łódź (1954–1960) and Spolem Łódź (1961–1972).

Athletic career

Kudra won the overall ranking of the Tour of Poland in 1962 and 1968 , in which he won a total of four stages. He took part in the Peace Tour five times and was third in the overall ranking in 1965 . In 1966 he won the 4th stage of the peace drive. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1962 , he finished eighth in the amateur road race . In the road race of the Summer Olympics in 1964 , he finished 13th. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1966 on the Nürburgring , he finished 58th in the amateur road race.

He won the Polish championship nine times: three times in the road race (1960, 1962 to 1964), three times in the team time trial ( 1962, 1963, 1964), twice in the individual time trial (1961, 1967) and once in the single pursuit on the track .

Honors

In Poland he was honored several times during his sporting career as the best athlete of the year (1962, 1963) , received the Golden Cross of Merit and other awards.

Professional

He trained at the Łódź University of Applied Sciences and at the University of Physical Education in Wrocław (until 1983). After his career, he sold and repaired bicycles in Łódź.
