Løgtingswahl 1936
The 1936 Løgtingswahl in the Faroe Islands took place on January 28, 1936. It was the last election before the outbreak of World War II .
The vote
The big winner of this election with almost 14 percent gain was the Javnaðarflokkurin from Peter Mohr Dam . Big loser of this election with more than 16 percent loss was the Sambandsflokkurin of Andrass Samuelsen . The Sjálvstýrisflokkurin with Jóannes Patursson , however, suffered only slight losses and became the largest party in the Løgting. The conservative business party Vinnuflokkurin was founded shortly before the election of Thorstein Petersen and was the first and only time in a Løgtings election .

The total number of MPs rose from 21 to 24. All four parties that had participated in the election entered parliament.
