The 1994 Løgtings election in the Faroe Islands took place on July 7, 1994. It was the 13th election since the internal self-government ( heimastýri ) was obtained in 1948.

Of the traditional parties, the unionist Sambandsflokkurin emerged as the winner and largest party in this election. He was able to gain 2 seats and increase the number of seats from 6 to 8.

The big loser in this election was the social democratic Javnaðarflokkurin , who lost five of his 10 seats. The conservative Fólkaflokkurin was also one of the losers and had to give up a seat. The left-wing Republican Tjóðveldisflokkurin , on the other hand, had only slight loss of voice and did not lose a seat.

Of the smaller parties, Kristiligi Fólkaflokkurin was able to keep his share of the vote, while Sjálvstýrisflokkurin lost over 3 percent and had to give up a seat.

Among the parties that stood for the first time, the left-wing socialist protest party Verkamannafylkingin won three seats and the conservative-religious Miðflokkurin received two seats. Due to poor results, however, Frælsisfylkingin and Hin Føroyski Flokkurin received nothing . It was also the last election for these two parties. They did not run again in the next election in 1998.

As a result of the clear election result, the Social Democrat-led state government Marita Petersen could no longer rule and was replaced by the newly formed, unionist-led state government Edmund Joensen I , in which Javnaðarflokkurin was involved as a coalition partner with two ministers.
