The Løgtingswahl 2002 in the Faroe Islands took place on April 30th of that year. It was the 15th election since internal self-government ( heimastýri ) was obtained in 1948.

The clear winner of this election was the unionist Sambandsflokkurin . He was able to win back the two seats he had lost in the 1998 election and emerged as the largest party from this election.

The left-wing Republican Tjóðveldisflokkurin was able to keep his percentage and his seats, while the social democratic Javnaðarflokkurin suffered slight losses, which however did not result in a loss of seats .

Losers in this election were the conservative Fólkaflokkurin , who lost a seat, and the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , who also had to give up a seat. Overall, the government coalition of Anfinn Kallsberg lost two seats in this election. Nevertheless, the coalition could be continued because the Miðflokkurin was still involved and so the state government at the beginning of Kallsberg II was formed.
