The 2011 Løgtingswahl in the Faroe Islands took place on October 29th of that year. It was the 18th election since internal self-government ( heimastýri ) was obtained in 1948.

The winners of this election were the unionist Sambandsflokkurin and the conservative Fólkaflokkurin , who each won an additional seat. The largest party was the Sambandsflokkurin of the Prime Minister Kaj Leo Johannesen .

The clear loser in this election was the left-wing Republican Tjóðveldisflokkurin , who lost two seats. The social democratic Javnaðarflokkurin lost slightly in percentage terms, but did not have to give up a seat. The two smaller parties, the Miðflokkurin and the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin , were among the losers in this election and lost again the seats they had won in the previous election.

The only new party was the Framsókn ("Progressive Party") of Poul Michelsen , who won two seats straight away.

Kaj Leo Johannesen was able to remain Prime Minister due to the results of his party. In his second state government , however, the Javnaðarflokkurin was replaced as a coalition partner by the Sjálvstýrisflokkurin and the Miðflokkurin.
