The State Garden Show Rosenheim 2010 was a Bavarian State Garden Show that took place in Rosenheim from April 23 to October 3, 2010 . The motto of the event was inspiration and was intended to open up the area around the mouth of the Mangfall for tourism.

history

After the city of Rosenheim applied in September 2001 to host the State Garden Show 2010, it was accepted by the Bavarian state government on April 18, 2002. In 2005 the city of Rosenheim and the Society for the Promotion of the Bavarian State Horticultural Shows founded the State Horticultural Show Rosenheim 2010 GmbH. Shortly afterwards, a design competition was announced, which the agency A24 Landschaft, Berlin, won in September. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in September 2007. The major construction work, such as the redesign of the inner-city Ludwigsplatz , was completed in 2009.

After the plantings had also been carried out in 2009, the state horticultural show was opened on April 23, 2010 by Prime Minister Horst Seehofer .

terrain

Mangfall Park South

The area of the state horticultural show extended over 13 hectares. The central exhibition area is called "Mühlbachbogen" and contained rose and model gardens. In addition, forms of burial from different cultures were presented in this area. A so-called flamingo garden was created as a sunken garden and planted with flamingo maple. The Bayern Cup, the professional competition of Bavarian landscape gardeners, also took place on this site. The buildings of the participating couples remained standing for the entire time of the state horticultural show. Christian Dobler and Marco Fückelsberger from Gaissmaier were winners of the 8th Bayern Cup.

To the east of this is the Mangfallpark Nord, directly at the mouth of the Mangfall . In this part of the LGS site there was a flower hall with changing exhibitions, a climbing garden and the “Bayern Arche” of the Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Health , which focused on biodiversity and nature conservation. The Catholic and Protestant churches also presented themselves in this part of the LaGa park. They held devotions and exhibitions at Noah's Ark facility.

The Innspitz area lies between Mangfall and Inn. There was a plant show in cooperation with the Bavarian State Institute for Wine and Horticulture , a course in which children should learn the importance of nature, and a 16-meter-high observation tower , which the municipality of Rimsting acquired in 2011 and has since been at Hitzing auf der Ratzinger Height .

In Mangfall Park South, the water of the Mangfall was integrated into the state horticultural show via a children's kayak route, among other things. A perennial and cactus garden as well as the exhibition area of the Bavarian State Association for Horticulture and Land Care were also located there. Most of the event program took place on an open-air stage.

The individual sub-areas were connected to one another by a circular path.

The Rosenheim Summer Festival has been taking place as an open-air concert on the site since 2011 .
