State election in Salzburg in 1945
The state elections in Salzburg in 1945 were carried out on November 25, 1945 and were the first state elections in the state of Salzburg after the Second World War . The newly formed Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) achieved an absolute majority with 56.7 percent in the first run and subsequently provided 15 of the 26 MPs. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) achieved 39.5 percent and entered the state parliament with 10 members. In addition, the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ), which won a state parliament mandate with 3.8 percent, also ran.
The Landtag of the 1st legislative period was constituted on December 12, 1945 and elected the Hochleitner provincial government as the new Salzburg provincial government, which was succeeded by Josef Rehrl's government in 1947 .
