Ninjago is an animated family action animated television series centered around the adventures of the six ninja , the masters of Spinjitzu , Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole, Nya and Lloyd. The series is based on the Lego toy series of the same name . With over 120 episodes, it is the longest running Lego series. The action takes place in the fictional world of Ninjago, a place inspired by Chinese and Japanese myths and culture. The land consists of the land of Ninjago with the city of the same name, Master Chen's Island and the Dark Island, where the ultra-evil is located (up to season 3 ). It has a large underworld, home to beings of evil such as the skeletons or the samurai army in the beginning, as well as holy places where many things are hidden or forgotten (such as the snake graves or the golden weapons). Similar to the Lego product line Bionicle , the main characters are in harmony with certain elementary properties (the elements in this case are fire , ice , lightning , earth and water ).

main characters

Kai Smith

Kai worked in a forge before joining the team. Its element is fire. He emerged as the leader of the ninja team, but loses this position to the green ninja Lloyd. He has a very good relationship with his sister Nya, as she is also his last family member. He always wanted to be the green ninja until it was discovered that Lloyd is the green ninja. Kai is generally quite hot-headed and a little self-indulgent. At the beginning of the 4th season he takes part in a wrestling competition and calls himself "The Red Light Beam". In season 4, Kai falls in love with Skylor, the daughter of Master Chen (villain). Chen wants to turn his followers into Anacondrai warriors and conquer the new Ninjago. Skylor initially helps her father, but later turns against him. Its element is amber, which means that it can avail itself of all elements that the user has touched. In season 5, Kai Lloyd promises to protect him forever because Garmadon is no longer there. In Special 2 (Day of Memories), he and his sister mourn their parents and wonder where they are. Master Chen supposedly knows an answer to this, but keeps it to himself. In season 7, Kai gradually unravels the secret, but has to learn not to overdo it in order to come to terms with the truth.

Jay Walker-Gordon

Jay grew up with his parents Edna and Ed in a junkyard, but it was way too boring for him in the long run. He therefore accepted Wu's request and joined the ninja team. There he fell head over heels in love with Nya, Kai's sister. The two become a couple within the first two seasons and separate again in the third season because of Cole. Jay was the first to learn Spinjitzu. Jay loves to joke and his element is lightning. In season 1, during his date with Nya, he is briefly transformed into a snake by the bite of a bite viper. At the beginning of season 4, he is hosting a television show in Ninjago. In the 5th season it comes out that he will be with Nya, which also becomes clear towards the end of season 6: Jay and Nya can create their own elemental dragon together and the two officially profess as a couple. Jay is considered to be the humorous one, but that's exactly what gives him the cleverest ideas.

Zane Julien

Zane, Master of Ice, is a nindroid and was born by Dr. Julien, with whom he had a father-son-like relationship. When Sensei Wu found him, no one knew Zane was a robot because Dr. Julien had already died and had erased Zane's memory. But later in Season 1, the ninja found out. He was also the first on the ninja team to discover his full potential. Zane is the best cook among ninjas. His companion is a falcon droid, also owned by Dr. Julien was built. Zane was destroyed by the ultra evil at the end of season 3, but his robot friend PIXAL was able to rebuild him. Her character chip had been in his head ever since. The newly built Zane woke up in Master Chen's dungeon with no memories, but PIXAL was able to help him remember. Zane then tried to escape, but was stopped by Chen's guards, but later released by Cole. When he was restoring himself in the factory, he took titanium as a material. When he loses PIXAL in Season 6 and Season 7, he realizes more and more that he cannot live without her. Thankfully, she reappears in her own body in season 8, so they're finally reunited.

Cole Bucket

If it had been up to Cole's father Lou, Cole would be a dancer. But Cole wanted to do something else with his life. Sensei Wu's invitation to the ninja team suited him well. He loves to eat, but he's not fat. After he entered and won a talent contest with his friends in Season 1, his father accepted his passion. In season 3, he falls in love with Nya, Kai's sister, but who is with Jay. This puts Jay and Cole's friendship to the test. At the beginning of season 4 he works as a lumberjack in the forest and avoids fighting. In the fourth season he gets along with Jay, who is his best friend, and Cole leaves "her" (a play on words between Nya and a jade blade) to him. In season 5, he transforms into a ghost in Yang's temple. When a spirit comes in contact with water, it is sent back to the cursed world; however, since this has been destroyed, the water leads directly to the "death" of the spirit. In the special day of memories, Cole is captured by Yang. At the end of the 2nd part you can see Yang Cole pushing into the portal, who is no longer a ghost from then on. However, he wears a small, green scar on his face (visible until the 8th season). In season 8, Cole doesn't eat that much anymore, he cites the reason that he still hasn't found Wu. Its element is earth.

Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon

Lloyd wasn't part of the ninja team from the start. He grew up in a boarding school for difficult-to-raise children, which contributed to the fact that, like his father, Lord Garmadon, he almost became a villain. But thanks to his good heart, he joined the ninjas. Later it became clear that Lloyd is the green ninja or the descendant of the first Spinjitzu master and therefore has to fight his father. So he began his ninja training during the first two seasons. During the second season he uses a magic tea to save his friends, which makes him as old as the other ninjas. Shortly before the end of season 2, Lloyd unfolds his true potential or the golden forces of the First Spinjitzu Master and defeats the ultra-evil that has taken possession of Lord Garmadon. Lloyd manages to reunite the ninja team after Zane's disappearance at the beginning of season 4. In season 5, the ghost Morro took possession of him. Lloyd's element is the Green Force, he had the Golden Force for a while, but he gave it up in Season 3 to give the other ninjas their powers back. He still mourns the loss of his father, Garmadon, who was banished to the cursed world in the season 4 finale, but which was destroyed in the season 5 finale. Since Lord Garmadon (Garmadon is now considered missing, his death has not been confirmed) was no longer there, Kai wanted to be his protector.

Sensei Wu

Sensei, later Master Wu, is the teacher of the six heroes and the brother of the once evil Lord Garmadon. Towards the end of Season 1, it seems like he is about to die after the great snake master devoured him. However, he returned after his death. In season 3, he is transformed into a nindroid cyborg of ultra-evil and fights against the ninja team. He also trained Morro before the others before he was banished to the cursed world. Both he and Garmadon are in love with Misako. However, she married Garmadon because he addressed the love letter written for her with Garmadon's name. At the end of season 7, Wu disappears into the time vortex with Krux and Acronix. In Season 8, Wu returns as a baby and ages faster than usual. At the end of season 9, he was back to normal. He is the younger son of the first Spinjitzu master. In addition, Wu always fights with his Nin-Jo staff and always has a teapot with him that contains special tea.

Nya Smith

Nya is Kai's sister. Her favorite color is blue, which Jay naturally likes: he's been in love with Nya since they first met. During the first two seasons, the two come together. Nya helps the ninja again and again as Samurai X. That she is Samurai X is only found out by Kai in the 6th episode of the first season (episode 8), later also by the others. After a love test, she finds out that Cole is her perfect partner, not Jay. Because of this, Nya and Cole suddenly begin to have feelings for each other, and Jay and Nya break up. Nya loves both and cannot choose between the two. For the time being she doesn't choose one. In season 5, Jay finds out that he and Nya will be together. In season 6, the two of them come back together after a lot of back and forth. As it turns out in season 5, she also inherited an elemental power, namely water, because Nya's father was the master of fire, but her mother was the master of water. In season 5, her training to become a ninja begins, which she completed by season 6. She unfolds her true potential in the fight against the primordial evil, which she defeats and saves Ninjago. The only thing left to learn is Airjitzu. During season 6, she learns that too, when she has to save herself from sand monsters. She also finds out that she will have a future with Jay. In season 6, Nadakhan wants to try to marry her because she looks similar to his former girlfriend Delara. She has been using Spinjitzu since the day of memories. In season 7, her old samurai suit is stolen by snake samurai; a little later the new Samurai X appears. Of course, Nya doesn't like the fact that he has her gear at all. But she later realizes that the person is worthy to be the new samurai. Together with her brother, she can defeat the masters of time by calling the fusion dragons of fire and water with him. She also has to fetch the fourth time blade from the boiling ocean with Kai so that her father and master Wu can be healed of the time strike. She travels with her brother through the time vortex that the masters of time had created. There they help the old masters of the elements and pretend to be their parents, who were not there for the fight because they were exhausted because they had forged the time blades. Later they travel back to the present.

Lord / Sensei / ruler Garmadon

Lord Garmadon is the brother of Sensei Wu. Lloyd is his son and Misako is his wife. As a child, he became angry with the Great Serpent Master's poison. His sensei was formerly Master Chen, who wanted to declare war on Ninjago and conquer it. Chen incited the snakes and elemental masters against each other. Together with the other elemental masters and Sensei Wu, Garmadon fought the snakes. After successfully defeating the Anacondrai, Garmadon banished them to the cursed world. Chen and his student Clouse were banished to an island where most of Season 4 takes place. At the end of Season 2, Lloyd's Golden Force makes Garmadon good. He is the eldest son of the 1st Spinjitzu master. In season 4, he is magically transformed into an anacondraic snake like Skylor, as they both have Master Chen's tattoo. Unfortunately, Garmadon banishes himself to the cursed world to save his friends and family. Through his sacrifice, the anacondrai generals banished by him are released from the cursed world and are the only ones able to defeat Chen and his anacondrai. In the final episode of season 5, he made a brief appearance when Lloyd was talking to him in The Cursed World. Garmadon encourages his son, promises to see him again and gives him his robe. Kai promises to take care of him so that Lloyd is not alone. In the 8th episode (the ceremony) of the 8th season (Garmadon's motorcycle gang) he is revived by Princess Harumi with the help of the three Oni masks. However, Harumi only brings back the evil side of Garmadon, which is why the latter sets himself the goal of defeating his son Lloyd to find his true strength. In the 9th episode (The True Power) of the eighth season, he is fighting against Lloyd in the Kryptonian prison and defeating him. Lloyd is then seriously injured and found by the other ninja without his elemental powers. After he unleashed his true potential in combat, he set himself a new goal of mastering Ninjago and from then on he was called by the inhabitants of Ninjago's "ruler Garmadon". With his newly acquired strength, he builds the "Oni-Titan", a huge stone monster, and with its help first conquers small villages and ultimately all of Ninjago. In the last episode (episode 10: Little Ninjago, Big Trouble) of the 8th season, he destroys the ninja flying ship on which Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole and the young Wu were, who then took the travelers' tea to the realm of the Oni and the dragons must flee. In season 9 (In the Land of Dragons) he rules Ninjago from a large platform on the roof of the Borg Tower, from which he can completely overlook Ninjago City. The only resistance to his rule are the self-proclaimed "protectors", a group of elemental masters, Lloyd, Nya, Dareth and Mystaké, who want to free Ninjago. In the course of the season, a connection between him and his son emerges several times, in moments when he can feel Lloyd's presence, for example. In the season finale (episode 10: Lloyds Kraft) he is fighting against Lloyd and his brother Wu on the Borg Tower. After defeating Wu, he fought even further against Lloyd, who found his strength in battle and Garmadon took his strength. He was arrested along with "Garmadon's Motorcycle Gang" at the end of Season 9. However, after they needed his help in Season 10, he was released.

Misako Garmadon

Misako is the wife of Lord / Sensei Garmadon, the sister-in-law of Wu and the mother of Lloyd. It appears for the first time in season 2 and henceforth helps the ninjas with their missions. In the 3rd and 4th season she only appears at irregular intervals. After Sensei Garmadon's sacrifice, she and Wu get closer and open a tea shop together, the green teapot, in season 5. Misako and Wu found out (thanks to Master Chen) that Garmadon lied to them and all these years pretended the letter was from him. Because only his letter brought the two together. On the one hand, Garmadon regretted it because Wu was angry and could have been with Misako, but somehow not because Lloyd wouldn't exist then. In season 6 she was banished to the Teapot of Exile by Nadakhan, but returns at the end of the season.

Supporting characters (selection)

Friends

Dareth

Dareth appears for the first time in Season 2, as the ninja are looking for a place in Ninjago City to begin Lloyd's training there. After they save Dareth from a gang of pirates, he offers them his training center. When his dojo is about to close, the ninja take part in the ninja ball race and thus save his business. He describes himself as a brown ninja. Since he loves to eat (Chen's noodles), he is a bit thicker and more comfortable in his movements. In the meantime he has become a good friend of the ninja and works as their manager and is also the owner of the bar "Lachis". He is a bit vain, very clumsy and shows off his fake trophies, but he has a big heart, is a loyal friend and secretly in love with the reporter Tina Tratsch. His biggest dream is to officially belong to the ninja team and to have his own elemental power. In season 9, this wish is temporarily fulfilled by the mystical tea seller Mystake, with the side effect that he has to go to the toilet all the time.

PIXAL

PIXAL is an artificial intelligence developed for Borg Industries. She doesn't appear in the series until season 3 and becomes Zane's girlfriend over the course of the season. Pixal means: P rimär I nteraktive X -terne A ssistierende L plane shape. Zane gives her half of his special energy source, which connects the two. This is also the reason why she develops a human appearance. In season 4, she ensures that Zane remembers his previous life and accepts his new elemental power Titan. Since then, her chip has been in his body and she gives him precise analyzes and helpful tips. However, after Zane was hacked in season 7, PIXAL disappeared. In season 8, she reveals herself as the new Samurai X.

Skylor Chen

Skylor is the master of amber and also the daughter of Master Chen. On the one hand, she is very ambitious, but can also be very loving and helpful. In addition, she decides in season 4 after a long hesitation to help the ninjas to stop her father. In addition, she and Kai have feelings for one another. Just like Garmadon, she also has Chen's Anacondrai mark, which is why she turns into a snake at the end of Season 4. After her father is brought to the cursed world by the real Anacondrai, she regains her normal appearance. Instead of joining the ninja team, Skylor decides to continue her father's noodle business. Skylor only made a small appearance at a noodle house in season 5, talking to Ronin, and at the end of season 6, when Jay asks "friends" to free the other ninja. In season 9, she becomes a member of the Protectors to help the ninja defeat Garmadon. She takes on his power in order to be able to control the Oni-Titan, but is internally injured by Garmadon's power. But it can be healed.

Ronin

Ronin is considered a bandit and soul protector in Ninjago. He worked for Master Chen and reappears after his defeat in Season 4. He was the owner of a pawn shop and, following a deal with Kai, is a partner in the tea shop. He played a wrong game with the ninja team as he was controlled by Morro and he handed him the Sword of Prophecy. He wanted to evoke the ultra-evil, which the ninjas could prevent by destroying the elemental exus. However, he comes to and saves the ninja with his ship as a sign of an offer of peace. He also supported Nya in her training as a water ninja.

Cyrus Borg

Cyrus Borg is a highly respected inventor and lives in the Borg Tower in central Ninjago. He was introduced to the series in season 3 and has since helped the ninja fight evil several times, for example by inventing the techno blades that the ninja used to fight ultra-evil (season 3) and building vehicles with which to use the ninja in season 5 were able to fight the ghosts from the cursed world. In the third season he was forced to fight the ninja for a short period of time by the ultra-evil by having him converted into an evil, nindroid-like human.

parents

Ed and Edna

Ed and Edna are Jay's parents. You live and work in a junkyard. Edna likes to bake and Ed likes to repair and invent vehicles from all materials from the junkyard. Both are very proud of their son, but they want him to visit them more often. But since Edna is a typical embarrassing mother, Jay always reacts in shock when she surprises him somewhere. Edna thinks you have to drink a lot of water, and Ed is a bit strict with Jay sometimes, but only out of love, of course. After a wish in the 6th season it is said that they are only the adoptive parents, but after all wishes of the season have been reversed, it cannot be said with certainty whether this is really true.

Lou

After Cole's mother died, his father Lou became very strict. He wants to turn Cole into a singer or dancer and therefore sends him to the "School for Gifted Arts". That's why he is initially disappointed when Cole reveals to him that he is a ninja. But now Lou has come to terms with it and just wants his son to be happy. Together with his group of men he often sings and dances at events in Ninjago, such as Remembrance Day.

Dr. Julien

Doctor Julien is a lonely inventor and has his laboratory hidden deep in the forest, underground. He is the builder of Zane and Echo Zane and has also built many useful inventions such as the falcon or "Tai-D". When he died, he erased Zane's memories of his father, so Zane only found out during the first season that he was a robot (Nindroid). What he also didn't know is that his father, Doctor Julien, was brought back to life by Samukai with the help of a magical potion. He should build some vehicles for the skeletons that Garmadon should use to defeat the ninja. If Julien refused, Samukai would make sure that he would never see his son again. To be on the safe side, the inventor was locked up on a lighthouse, where he was guarded by a sea monster. Because he missed his son Zane there, he built Echo Zane as a replacement. Dr. Julien only appears in Season 2 and otherwise in flashbacks. Among other things, he helped defeat the ultra-evil. At the beginning of season 3, we learn that he died between seasons 2 and 3.

Ray and Maya

Ray and Maya are the parents of Kai and Nya. Ray is the former master of fire and Maya is the former master of water until they passed her powers on to their children. They used to fight alongside Wu and Garmadon and the other former masters of the elements. Even before the plot of the pilot episodes, they are forced by Krux to leave their forge and leave their children behind. During Season 7 (The Masters of Time), Kai and Nya find her in a forge below Ninjagos, where they were forced to forge armor for the army of the time twins, the snake samurai. Since then, however, they have not occurred again.

Known

Mystake

Mystake is an elderly lady who runs a small tea shop in Ninjago. It was always known that she knew Sensei Wu from before, but her roles have always been very small. In season 8 she got her first big role. She knows all the truths about the history of Ninjago and other worlds. But she always reveals only the most necessary. With her magic tea she helps the ninja one time or another. In season 9, she reveals her big secret. She is actually an Oni and able to change shape. When the first spinjitz master created Ninjago, she took refuge in this new world and since then has lived in peace, unlike her fellow species. In episode 92 she had her last appearance so far.

Echo Zane

Echo Zane, like Zane, is a nindroid. He was led by Dr. Julien was built in an abandoned lighthouse during his captivity. Its exterior is very similar to that of Zane, as both were built according to the same blueprint. However, Echo Zane is more clumsy. After Dr. Julien left the lighthouse in season 2 to be with Zane, he left Echo Zane in the lighthouse. Over the years it began to rust, which is why it has now predominantly taken on a rust-red color. In season 6 he is found by Jay and Nya as they flee from the Djinn Nadakhan. He helps them fight the air pirates, but is then left alone by Jay and Nya. Since the plot was undone by Jay's last wish in the season finale of Season 6, it can be assumed that he still lives in the abandoned lighthouse to this day.

Elemental Masters

Karloff

Karloff is the elemental master of iron and appears for the first time in the fourth season in the competition of the elements. He is the first to leave the competition and later befriends Cole. In the 7th season he is captured by the time twins and later freed by Jay and Cole. In season 9, he joins the protectors. Despite his rough demeanor, he is a kind person and always tries to help others.

Freddy Swift

Freddy Flink (also Griffin Turner) is the elemental master of speed and appears for the first time in season 4 in the competition of the elements. In season 9, he joins the resistance.

Besides the main characters there are other elemental masters, these are: Shadow, Neuro, Mr. Pale (Paleman), Ash, Gravis, Bolobo, Chamilie, Jakob, Tox. They only had any major significance in the fourth season of the series. Some of them join the Protectors in Season 9.

Enemies

Skeleton Warrior (pilot)

Samukai

Samukai was part of the skeletal army of the underworld that fought the ninja Cole, Kai, Jay and Zane when they first appeared on screen (2011). Before Lord Garmadon he was the king of the underworld, but lost the throne in a battle to Garmadon, who was henceforth called Lord Garmadon. He was a four-armed and extremely aggressive skeleton that, on Lord Garmadon's orders, was to find the golden weapons and bring them to the underworld. He made his first appearance in the attack on the smithy in Ninjago, owned by Kai and his sister Nya. When the golden weapons were united in the underworld, he fights against Sensei Wu. He wanted to tame all weapons and regain control of the skeletons. However, he was destroyed in the process. In Special 2 he reappears to take Jay's place in the real world, but he only has one night for that. He loses the fight and is sent back to the world of the dead.

General Nuckal

He is the first general of the skeleton army and is also the right hand man of Samukai. Nuckal loves cotton candy and donuts, as can be seen in the series. He also often performs with Kruncha. The two often disagree on little things and almost always seek a reason to start an argument, but in truth both are like brothers and good friends. As a weapon he carries a golden double bone ax, which is never shown in the film.

General Kruncha

The second general of the skeletons wears a helmet and a larger breastplate than the other skeletal knights. He wears a monocle in one eye. He and Nuckal always appeared alongside Samukai on the series. Both took their jobs very seriously. After Lord Garmadon's disappearance, he became the leader of the skeletons in the underworld. The Lego minifigure has a golden double ax.

General Wyplash

Wyplash, the third skeletal general of the underworld, is easily identified by his straw hat and icy chain whip. He also supported Samukai in his exercise of power, but he was only rarely seen on the screen (Secrets of the Forge, Ninjago Mini Movies Part 1). You can also see him in "Return to the Fire Temple", where he and a skeleton troop dug a secret entrance from the underworld to the upper world in the fire temple. Kai and Nya discovered the entrance through Kai's dragon "Flame" and this was buried, whereupon Wyplash fled back to the underworld with his warriors.

Snakes (seasons 1–2)

Scales

Skales was only the officer of the Hypnocobras at the beginning of Season 1. After Slithraa, the general, was under Lloyd's control, he defied his orders. Thereby he challenges him to a fight in their tomb, which he won. Towards the end of Season 1, he acts as Pythor's right-hand man who wants to summon the great snake master. At the beginning of the 2nd season he is again deprived of his leadership position for all snake tribes by Lord Garmadon. When he was released from prison by the other generals, the snakes deceive Garmadon under his leadership and he actually becomes the head of the snakes. Finally he wants to subjugate all of Ninjago and finds the hall in which the stone samurai are and brings them to life. Against this superiority, the snakes lose and are from now on trapped under the earth again. Since the 3rd season, all snake tribes lead a peaceful life with the residents of Ninjagos. Skales himself is married and has a son, Skales Jr. At the end of season 4, he supports the ninjas in the fight against Chen. Skales appears in the 7th season with his son in the catacombs of Ninjago and helps the ninja in their search for the masters of time.

Fangtom

While Fangtom acts as the general of the biting vipers, his brother Fangdam is just his right hand. The two are a kind of Siamese snake. One story tells that Fangtom once bit himself in a fight and then his second head grew. Another story says he was accidentally bitten by Fang-Suei, a tribe member, during a fight. This second head very often thinks independently. After the Serpentine War you had a good friendship with Skales, the general of the Hypnocobras. Fangtom and probably also Fangdam, like Skales and the other snakes, were trapped underground in the hall where the stone samurai were, but were released again and later led a peaceful existence below Ninjago.

Acidicus

The leader of the poisonous snakes lived like his tribesmen in their stone grave in the swamps until they were freed by Pythor. He lacks any sense of humor and he always tries to appear very strict so that everyone else behaves respectfully towards him. At the time of the Sepentine Wars he was one of the main people responsible for drawing up battle plans. It was he who told the ninjas the story of the uprisings.

Scalidor

The chunky general of the choke boas has incredible strength in both his mighty tail and arms and he would probably be able to choke up to 3 enemies at once. Choke boas are not necessarily considered to be the smartest snakes, but you don't want to get too close to Skalidor's fangs or spines.

Pythor P. Chumsworth the 3rd

Pythor is the only living snake of the Anacondrai tribe as it devoured the rest of its species. He was freed by Lloyd in season 1 and played a friendship for him in order to get the ticket for the gravesites of the other snake tribes. Thereupon he freed the great serpent master who devoured him and Sensei Wu. He returned in season 3, but with white flaky skin because it was digested at the time. Aside from the ultra-evil he resurrected, he is the main antagonist in season 3 and is shrunk at the end of it by keeping Borg Industries' shrink pill from being ultra-evil by swallowing it himself. He returns when the ninjas visit him in prison to help them fight Chen. It is he who gives the crucial tip for saving Ninjago, which is why he is getting his normal size back. In Special 2 (Day of Memories) he returns to put Lloyd and Misako out of action. When he doesn't succeed, he swears to himself that he'll take some henchmen with him next time. So Pythor is still in the running when it comes to the villains of Ninjago.

Ultra Evil / Golden Master / Digital Ultra Evil (Seasons 2-3)

The ultra-evil has existed since the creation of ninjagos by the First Spinjitzmaster. It wanted to kill this one, but failed. Even by creating his invincible army, the Stone Samurai, he was unable to destroy the first spinjitz master, who then smashed Ninjago into two parts - the Dark (also known as the Dark Island) and the Good (Land Ninjago). Years later (season 2) the ultra-evil planned with Lord Garmadon, who was pushed into the water by the betrayal of the snake leaders and thus washed up on the dark island, to overthrow the equilibrium of Ninjago into the darkness in order to enter the real world of the ninja reach. This came about and the ultra-evil took possession of Lord Garmadon. In the 26th episode (final episode of the 2nd season) he reached his true physical form: the dark dragon / Overlord - Dragon. However, Lloyd destroyed him with his golden power. He was believed defeated for a while, but returned as the ultra-evil / digital ultra-evil computer virus, demanding Lloyd's golden energy to escape his digital prison. Since the new Ninjago City was networked with all digital and electronic devices, the digital villain got the city under his control without any problems (this also included PIXAL, Cyrus Borg's assistant and Borg himself, as he was programmed to be a cyborg). By scanning Zane's blueprints, an army of nindroids was created, completely different from the white ninja himself and without any feelings. When the ninja all over the country switched off the electricity, and with it the ultra-evil, a mysterious stranger came and revived him with electric eels. He also helps in the search for the golden ninja. When Lloyd is caught, the stranger turns out to be none other than Pythor P. Chumsworth, the last Anacondrai (he was first pronounced dead after being eaten by the great snake master). During the transformation to the Golden Master, the ultra-evil in the computer world duels with Kai, Jay, Zane and Cole. When the digital overlord was believed to have been erased due to the prevention of the process, it escaped from the digital world into the real one, but in a weak state. As Lloyd gave up his golden energy, the Nindroids built, with Pythor's help, the Arcturus rocket, which led them to the comet of the same name, to the lost golden weapons, to give new energy to the ultra-evil. In the end he became the Golden Master because the powerful weapons were made into armor. Fortunately, the master's plan to rule Ninjago failed because Zane sacrificed himself and destroyed the ultra-evil once and for all. Its element is darkness and golden energy.

Nindroids (Season 3)

The nindroids are robots like Zane. However, they work for the ultra-evil. PIXAL built it, and although Zane fights for the good, the nindroids are evil, because the ultra-evil forced Borg to build the nindroids in the third season and ultimately transformed himself into an evil cyborg. The nindroids can make themselves invisible and fire laser beams from one eye. Their armor is the same for all of them: black and silver in some places. They are stronger than Zane and are subject to the orders of General Cryptor, also a Nindroid, who in turn obeys the orders of the ultra-evil and later also Pythors. Not all nindroids can speak. After the ninja defeated the golden master, the nindroids were destroyed. Borg, no longer subject to the influence of the ultra-evil, has restored the nindroids, but he has reprogrammed them to be Guardians. Now they guard the golden armor and the world crystal.

General Crypthor

He is the supreme general of the nindroids and fulfills every order from the ultra-evil. Since he is a machine he has no feelings but hate. He can also make fun of the size of the mini droids. Like all other nindroids, Crypthor was constructed according to Zane's blueprint. By doing this, he claims that he and Zane have the same father. In Special 2, Crypthor wants to get Zane out of the way. But he does not succeed and he is banished to the world of the dead.

Anacondrai Followers (Season 4)

Master Chen

Master Chen is the leader of the Anacondrai and the father of Skylor. He used to be the master of Garmadon and Clouse. He was also a great master with a powerful staff that could steal and absorb elemental powers, which was a disadvantage for the ninjas.

Clouse

Clouse is Master Chen's right hand man. When he wanted to banish Garmadon in a duel into the enchanted world, he was thrown into the portal by himself. Clouse later returned as a ghost and freed the Djinn Nadakhan from his lamp, which was crucial for the 6th season. This, however, banished Clouse to his own lamp.

Admission

Zugu is the chief general of Master Chen's Anacondrai followers. He's pretty strict and likes to nibble on pasta. One of his teeth pokes out when his mouth is closed and he wears dark red shoulder armor.

Pirate eye

This Anacondrai follower is actually pretty insignificant, but he didn't like it. So he put on a leather jacket, cut himself a mohawk and put on a tooth necklace to distinguish him from the others. But that got to his head. He now sees himself as something better and thinks he has to order all other Anacondrai supporters around. Since he announces orders from Master Chen, Clouse or Zugu rather loudly and strictly, nobody dares to contradict Pirate Eye. Since he only has one correct eye, he called himself “pirate's eye”, which again sets him apart from the others because they are so unimportant that nobody knows or wants to know their names.

Kapau and Chope

Kapau and Chope are normal Anacondrai followers and do not have great rights. But when they see how Pirate's Eye has realized themselves, they also want to give up their boring life as foot soldiers. After inventing their names, they automatically rose in the order of warriors. They couldn't get close to Pirate's Eye because they are much friendlier, but they even manage to become Master Chen's personal servants after Clouse has disappeared and all of Chen's other henchmen have been captured by the Elemental Masters. They are always seen together in the series, but only appear in season 4.

Ghosts (Season 5)

Morro

Morro is an evil spirit from the cursed world. When he was still a human child, he was trained as Wu's first student. Wu suspected that Morro could be the green ninja, but this is refuted by a test. Morro can't come to terms with it and tries to be the green ninja and as strong as Lloyd in the fifth season. He then left Wu and his dojo and apparently died in a volcano, which was in one of the caves of despair (his skeleton was found there by the ninjas in season 5). Somehow he got into the cursed world and couldn't escape until he escapes the cursed world in season 4 when it is open to the anacondra gels. He tries to steal the world crystal and so release his master, the primordial evil. She is the manifestation of the cursed world. With her death, the cursed world collapses and is destroyed with all inhabitants. Morro dies at the side of his master and refuses to help Wu. Its element is wind. In the special he is brought back to Ninjago by Sensei Yang together with Chen, Crypthor, General Kozu (leader of the stone samurai) and Samukai to defeat the ninja. He pretends to want to defeat Wu, but instead informs him of Yang's plans so that the ninja can stop him in time. Thereupon Morro disappears again into the world of the dead.

Wrayth

Wrayth is the first Spirit General to be brought from the cursed world by Morro. He owns a ghost chain bike that makes life difficult for the ninja.

Soul Archer

He has a bow and arrow. With it he can shoot little ghosts who can turn everything they hit into a ghost. Soul Archer has a deal with Ronin. He has to pay a lot of money, otherwise he has to give his soul to Soul Archer.

Bansha

Bansha is the only female spirit general. She is smart, nimble and has a very shrill voice. If she sings, she can bring down a whole mountain.

Ghoultar

Ghoultar is the shabbiest of all four spirit generals. Not only that: he's also the most humorous and hungry. His favorite food is juicy dumplings, the same delicacy that Dareth likes. Ghoultar's hobby is dancing. He prefers to dance to "Ghostbusters".

Air Pirates (Season 6)

Nadakhan

Nadakhan is a Djinn (prince) who grants 3 wishes to everyone, and at the same time the pirate captain of the crew of the airship of misfortune. He was locked in the teapot of exile by Captain Soto thousands of years ago. At the beginning of season 6 he is freed from Clouse's ghost. His home, the world of Djinjago, was destroyed because the cursed world / the primordial evil was destroyed by the ninjas. When Nadakhan vows revenge on the ninja team, he uses their 3 available wishes to banish Sensei Wu, Misako, Kai, Zane, Cole and Lloyd to the Djinn blade / soul sword. Only Jay and Nya can escape. Nadakhan sees Nya as his former lover Dilara (not much is known about Dilara, in episode 55 it is said that she is missing). Nadakhan kidnapped Nya, married her and became omnipotent with infinite desires as this is the rule in the world of Djinns. The only weakness of Djinns is the venom of the black widow / tiger spider, which weakens Nadakhan. But when Nya is hit because she was too close to him, she dies because the poison is fatal for humans. With Jay's last wish, time turns back, so that Nya is alive again and the teapot with Nadakhan was never found. His father is the Djinn King Khanjikhan.

Flint lock

This proud pirate is the first general of Nadakhan and rightly so. He can shoot like no other and hits every difficult target. After Nadakhan's betrayal, he joins the ninja along with Dogshank.

Dogshank

She was once a perfectly normal girl, now she is a meter tall monster. The reason? She wanted to be the best in everything and that is what Nadakhan wanted. But if you want to be the best in every sport, you need muscles. She definitely has enough of that now. After Nadakhan's betrayal, she and Flintlocke join the ninja.

Dubloon

Dubloon was once a robber, but thanks to Nadakhan, he now has a skeletal head that makes it impossible for him to speak. For that he has become an even better fighter.

Monkey Wretch

Before he fell victim to Nadakhan's magic, he was a perfectly normal craftsman. Now he has been turned into a monkey. But he can now climb up the ship better and repair things there.

Clancee

He is actually not a person and also not a victim of Nadakhan. He is a snake that now leads a peaceful life with the other snakes. But his greatest wish is to be a pirate. So now he's going on Nadakhan's ship with the pirate crew. But soon Nadakhan uses him to defeat the ninja. Because he's the only one who hasn't wanted anything from the Djinn. These wishes should help Nadakhan.

Time Twins and their Snake Samurai (Season 7)

Crux

One of the time twins is Krux. Krux and his brother Acronix were once masters of the time. But Wu and Garmadon have taken their powers and divided them into four time blades. When his brother was exiled, Krux escaped and spent 40 years preparing for Acronix's return. For so long he lived as the museum director "Doctor Sander Saunders" and forged a plan in a secret room of the museum. And if you have 40 years, you can come up with a really bad plan. In contrast to his brother, Krux hates technical progress and relies on tried and tested methods. Dr. Saunders first appeared in Special 2, Day of Memories. In the first episode of season 7, he reveals his true identity to viewers as Krux.

Acronix

The other of the time twins is Acronix. After Acronix was banned and reappeared 40 years in the future, he is absolutely thrilled with the technology. He even got a Borg watch from Cyrus Borg and tries to use it in every possible event. But technology cannot always be relied on. Acronix is the humorous part of the brothers and takes a liking to General Machia. He made his first appearance in the first episode of season 7, in which Sensei Wu was already expecting his return.

Machia

General Machia is the only female soldier among the snake samurai. Unlike Blunk and Regmunk (the other two generals of the snake samurai), their plans extremely rarely fail. If she wants something, she will achieve it and it would be better if no one stand in her way. She is quite moody and fulfills every task of the time twins, usually even better than was asked of her.

Blunk and Regmunk

Together with General Machia they are the head of the snake samurai, of which Blunk and Regmunk are not the most intelligent part. The two always argue and screw up every plan. Although they know it is their own fault, they are jealous of General Machia and try to get the positive attention of the time twins. But that never worked so far.

Snake samurai

They are fearless warriors and consist of many small snakes that were developed into an independent army with the poison of the great snake master and with Krux's intelligence. Well almost independently. Generals Machia, Regmunk and Blunk are the only ones of the snake samurai who can speak and think. The rest of the army only carries out the orders of the three generals. The main advantage of the snake samurai over the other villains from Ninjago: once they are destroyed, they can be put together again immediately. The snakes that make up the samurai are red or orange.

Garmadon's Motorcycle Gang (Seasons 8 & 9)

Princess Harumi / the silent boss

Harumi is the Jade Princess and was adopted by the Emperor and the Empress. Her birth parents died in Season 2 when the great snake master attacked Ninjago, so she was out for revenge. When the palace was set on fire by Garmadon's motorcycle gang, her adoptive parents also died. She pretended to join the ninja and Lloyd fell in love with Harumi, which she quickly noticed. When Harumi and Lloyd were in the eye of the jungle to find the last Oni mask (mask of hatred), Lloyd discovered in the cave where the mask was that Harumi was the silent boss. He was captured by her and the motorcycle gang. She broke Lloyd's heart by saying that there was never anything between them. She was later taken to the police station. After Garmadon was resurrected, he freed her and all the other gang members. When Garmadon and the stone giant destroyed the city, Harumi fled. When she was helping a family in a skyscraper to get out of the building so that they would not suffer the same fate as her, the door broke and Harumi could not save himself. She ran to the roof. At the other part of the city she saw Lloyd. He pronounced her name and they looked each other in the eye. She wanted to show that she had recognized her fate and maybe loved him after all.

Mister E.

He is one of the three generals of the motorcycle gang. The only thing known about Mister E on the show is that he's a nindroid, just like Zane. Apparently it was built by Harumi to obey orders. He has no face, just a kind of shimmering red pair of eyes under his motorcycle helmet, which he never takes off. Mister E actually never speaks. But only once could he be heard talking, although what he said was a backward message. When he is unable to carry out one of Garmadon's commands, Mister E breaks it down into its individual parts. It is confirmed by the creators of the series that Mister E is Echo Zane (A Friend of the Ninja in Season 6). But this cannot be implemented logically in the series, so Mister E's true identity remains a secret there. As long as it is not repaired, it will probably no longer appear in the series. Mister E was the wearer of the red Oni Mask of Retribution, which enabled him to get two extra arms and so be able to fight better.

Ultra Viollet

Ultra Viollet is the wearer of the purple Oni mask of hatred and the second general of the motorcycle gang. The purple mask makes you invincible and quite strong by covering your skin with impenetrable lava stone. Ultra Viollet has a long black ponytail, a crazy laugh, and one of her eyes twitches every now and then. She loves to fight and likes the challenge. Together with the other members of the motorcycle gang, she was arrested at the end of season 9.

Killow

Killow is the third general of the motorcycle gang. It's quite big and has a lot of muscle. His job is to scrutinize the newcomers. If you want to become a member of Garmadon's motorcycle gang, you first have to convince Killow. He never takes off his motorcycle helmet, has a black beard and a rough voice. Since he is the largest, he of course also needs a large motorcycle. This is only equipped with one tire and has a razor-sharp saw blade at the front. Killow is the wearer of the orange Oni mask of deception, with which he can make objects float.

Luke Cunningham

Luke Cunningham is actually a normal member, not a general, of the motorcycle gang. But unlike the others, he has a few speaking roles and is always immediately noticeable. Thanks to his black and white hair mountain on his head, he is always recognizable. He was caught first by the ninja and questioned by Cole and Zane. In this interview he mentioned that Garmadon's motorcycle gang always meets in Dareth's bar, the "Lachis". In seasons 8 and 9 he can often be seen in the background and sometimes talks to Killow about Harumi's orders in the foreground.

Dragon Hunter (Season 9)

Iron baron

The iron baron is the head of the dragon hunter gang that appears in Season 9 (In the Land of Dragons). He had a common past with the first person to fly, a kite who has all elemental powers, but which is negative. Since that day he has wanted to capture or kill all dragons, and especially the first to fly. When the ninja appear in the world of dragons and the oni, he initially mistakes them for oni. Since the iron baron believes it, so do all the other members of the dragon hunter gang. When the ninja use their elemental powers in a fight in the arena of the dragon hunter village, the iron baron has the ninja captured in order to lure dragons with their elemental powers. The young master Wu and Cole, who are not caught, want to build a kite according to Jay's plans that resembles the first one to fly. While the dragon hunters should be distracted by the replicated first flight, the young master should free Wu Jay, Kai and Zane. But Cole had eaten too much and therefore accumulated more personality than usual. Therefore, the young master Wu had to fly the kite. When the first flyer discovered the robot dragon, she appeared and the ninja had enough time to free the dragons as well. The iron baron tries again and again to catch the ninja.

Dragon fright / Faith

Dragon Fright (or Faith) is the iron baron's right hand and the most skilled of the dragon hunters. She was forced to hide her face by the iron baron so that no other dragon hunter would find out that she was a woman. Your weapon is the dragon bone blade. She later leaves the dragon hunters and helps the ninja escape the realm of the oni and dragons when she finds out that Wu is the son of the first Spinjitzu master. She stayed in the realm of the oni and dragons and lives there to this day.

Crumple

Knautschi is the funniest of all dragon hunters. He loves to be the center of attention and therefore leads the fights in the dragon pit, as he and his fighters are always cheered there. Together with the ninja he also faced the earth dragon or actually he just watched and gave the heroes tips. Knautschi is a bit thicker, which is due to his preference for meat legs. He also has a pretty good sense of smell, which is very useful to the Iron Baron when looking for the ninja.

Mauli

Dragon hunter Mauli is Daddy's best and only friend. He owns a helicopter with which he loves to hunt dragons. Mauli wears a face mask, which makes it impossible for him to speak clearly.

Jet Jacky

It's very easy to spot. She has a mohawk, safety glasses and carries a jetpack with her. This is ready for use at any time. When the Iron Baron announces that whoever catches Dragon Fright and Wu will be his new right-hand man, Jet Jacky is very interested in the position and can get it too. Thanks to her ingenious plans, she can track and capture the ninja.

Daddy

Daddy's got no real legs. That's why he usually sits on a four-legged robot, which he uses to get anywhere. One of his eyes is missing, he has a speech impediment and a dark ponytail. Although he is one of the dragon hunters' generals, sometimes he is not treated that way. His only real friend is Mauli.

arcade

If someone is technically gifted, then Arcade. That's why he's also the dragon hunter mechanic. He wears a welding helmet, so nobody knows his face. He has built a kind of gambling machine in his stomach. With their help, he gives away prizes to his friends.

Forbidden Spinjitzu (Season 11)

Aspheera

Aspheera is an evil snake sorceress and the leader of the Pyrovipers (fire snakes). She apprenticed to Master Wu when he was still a child. In order for Master Wu to teach her Spinjitzu, she had to promise him that she would never use it for evil. However, she did not adhere to it and used it to defeat the Serpent King. Master Wu and Lord Garmadon use the roles of the Forbidden Spinjitzu to defeat them. She later stole Kai's Elemental Power (Firepower) and a role of Forbidden Spinjitzu from a museum.

Motion picture

The adaptation of The LEGO Ninjago Movie was released on September 21, 2017, but received only mediocre reviews. However, its plot differs from the general series and can therefore be viewed more as a spin-off , as a sequel or as an addition to the series. In the 8th season, the characters of the ninjas are redesigned a little so that they correspond to the movie Lego Ninjago Movie.
