The 8th European Athletics Team Championships ( 8th SPAR European Team Championships ), also known as European Team Championships , took place from August 9th to 11th, 2019. The host team of the Polish Athletics Federation became the European Team Champion 2019 . The competitions were held for both men and women in 20 disciplines each.

The final tables of the individual leagues were basically used to classify the competitions of the European Athletics Team Championships in 2021 . The new division aims to have eight teams in the super league and twelve teams each in the 1st and 2nd league. The remaining teams then form the 3rd division.

Super league

The top division competitions were held in the Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium in Bydgoszcz from August 9th to 11th. Twelve teams took part in the competitions. Finland, Sweden and Switzerland were promoted to the Superliga 2019.

The German Athletics Association (DLV) had nominated 50 athletes (25 women and 25 men) and started as champions of the 2017 European Athletics Team Championship .

The five last-placed teams in the super league are relegated to the first division and the first-placed team in the first division is promoted to the super league.

Results table

Each nation is only represented by a single athlete or relay in each discipline. A simple point system that only takes into account the placement is used for evaluation. The nation of the winner of a discipline receives a number of points identical to the number of participants, decreasing to the nation of the last place with one point.
