The Lietuvos socialdemokratų darbo partija ( LSDDP , Social Democratic Labor Party of Lithuania ) is a political party in Lithuania . history
In September 2017, the Lithuanian Social Democrats split in parliament ( Seimas ). After the decision of the new LSDP council headed by chairman Gintautas Paluckas to leave the government coalition, the majority of the 19 members of the then LSDP parliamentary group decided against this decision and continued to support the Lithuanian government led by Saulius Skvernelis . The breakaway MPs left the LSDP - other party members who opposed the decision of their new leadership were expelled from the LSDP. In November the rebellious Seimas members officially registered their own faction in parliament. The founding assembly of the LSDDP took place at the end of March 2018.
