In the main round, the 12 teams play 44 games each. The eight best-placed teams qualify for the playoffs in which the champions are played out. The four last placed in the main round compete in the relegation, the last of which is relegated directly to the second division. Each team receives three points for a win after regular time and two after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
