Lincoln , with full name Lincoln Corrêa dos Santos (born December 16, 2000 in Serra ), is a Brazilian soccer player who is currently under contract with the first division club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . He occupies the position of striker both in the club and in the Brazilian U-20 national team .

Career

The striker comes from the youth academy of the traditional club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . On November 19, 2017 (matchday 36), he made his debut in Série A at the age of 16 when he was substituted on in the 65th minute of the 3-0 away win against Corinthians São Paulo . Lincoln was also used in the remaining two games of the season, but he was only substituted in the final phases. In the following season, 2018 , Lincoln was only used irregularly and only played nine league games. In spring 2019, Lincoln won the State Championship of Rio de Janeiro with Flamengo after a 2-0 final victory against CR Vasco da Gama . On the 4th matchday of the 2019 season, he scored his first goal in the Brazilian league in a 2-1 home win against Chapecoense . On November 23, 2019, he won the 2019 Copa Libertadores with the club , making a 33-minute deployment in just one game in the round of 16. A day later, the preliminary decision in favor of Flamengo was made in the 2019 Brazilian championship and Rafinha was also able to celebrate this title.

National team

Lincoln represented his home country Brazil in various junior national teams. With the U17 he won the U-17 South American Championship 2017, where Chile was the host. With five goals in nine missions, he was behind Vinícius Júnior , his then team-mate at Flamengo, the second top scorer of the tournament. In October 2017 he took part with Brazil in the U-17 World Cup 2017 in India . There he scored one goal each in all three group matches against Spain , North Korea and Niger . In the final round, he could no longer score, where Brazil failed in the semi-finals to England . The game for third place against Mali could then be won 2-0. In total, he played 18 games for the U-17 selection, in which he met nine times.

Lincoln Corrêa has been playing for the U20s since November 2018 , with whom he took part in the 2019 U-20 South American Championship in Chile. In this he played all ten games of the selection and scored three goals. Brazil finished the competition in 5th place.
