Lipki ( Russian Липки ) is a Russian city ​​in the Kireevsk Raion of Tula Oblast with 8,719 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010). It is located 23 km southeast of the station in the city of Shchokino and just under 40 km south of Tula .

history

The village of Lipki was founded in the 17th century. From 1940 coal mining began in the neighboring villages. In 1949 the village was raised to the status of an urban-type Lipkowski ( Липковский ) settlement . When it gained town status in 1955, the old name Lipki was restored. Today coal is no longer mined, but there is a brick factory and a (large) bakery.
