The list of Düsseldorf underground stations contains all underground stations that are served by the light rail system of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf , this also includes stations in Duisburg city area.

All of the stations in the list are subway-compatible stops. In order to guarantee the independent operation of the lines, there are also no crossing possibilities via the tracks at the above-ground stops listed in the list. Instead, the platforms can only be reached via overpasses or underpasses . In addition to the existing underground stations, this list also includes those that are currently under construction and those that are planned to be built in the near future.

stretch

In 2008 there were seven light rail lines in Düsseldorf. With the exception of lines U77 and U78, the remaining five all leave the Düsseldorf city area. This enables a connection with the neighboring cities of Neuss , Meerbusch , Krefeld and Duisburg . However, there are only other stops in the city of Duisburg that can be described as underground stations.

The U70 line operates as an express line in high-speed traffic between Düsseldorf and Krefeld. It does not serve all of the stops on its route in order to reduce travel time.

In 2011, the U79 line was extended beyond the previous terminus at Kaiserslauterner Strasse to the university, but this section is only served on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The new lines U71, U72, U73 and U83 have been running on the new Wehrhahn line since February 21, 2016 .

Lines are currently being extended and further lines are planned, such as the U80 line to bypass the exhibition center .
