The underground station Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße (formerly: U-Bahnhof Klever Straße ) is a station of the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn . It is located on the first trunk line in the Pempelfort district of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf . The below the Fischer Street to the intersection Kleverstraße built underground station was opened to traffic on October 3 1,981th The intersection above the train station brings together several important streets in the northern inner city. There are numerous companies and a dense residential structure in the immediate vicinity. The underground station is served by the U78 and U79 light rail lines. There is a link with another line of Düsseldorf local transport at an above-ground bus stop. In 2002, the number of people entering, leaving and switching was around 10,000 to 15,000 per working day.

location

The underground station itself is located on an important transport axis from Pempelfort at the listed Golzheimer Friedhof . The main administrative offices of Ergo Versicherung as well as the Düsseldorf district government and the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court are in the immediate vicinity .

Station complex

The train station can be reached via escalators and an elevator. The upper of the two levels serves as a distribution level and leads to the lower level. The lower level has a central platform where the lines towards Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof and towards Duisburg or Merkur Spiel-Arena / Messe Nord stop.

The Düsseldorf subway stations of the first, second and third generation all have almost the same design. The ceilings and walls are black, as is the floor. The pillars in the middle of the platform are clad in silver; the same material was also used for the station furniture. The beige walls provide a contrast to this restrained color scheme. The names of the stops are affixed above the information boards with black writing on a white background and on the walls with black writing on a white background, accompanied by wine-red lines above and below the writing.

traffic

The underground station Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße is located on the first trunk line of the Düsseldorf light rail network. All two lines on this route serve the station. In addition to the transfer options between the individual tram lines, there is another transfer connection to bus line 722, which stops at an above-ground stop along Fischerstrasse and connects to the Düsseldorf local transport network.

The neighboring city and the northern districts of Wittlaer , Kaiserswerth and Lohausen can be reached via the line from Duisburg . The line branching off in Stockum to the Merkur Spiel-Arena connects this as well as the Düsseldorf exhibition center . In the direction of the old town there is a connection to the central transfer point Heinrich-Heine-Allee. There you can change to several bus lines and the so-called Wehrhahn Line . Behind the Düsseldorf Hbf transfer station , which links the Stadtbahn with the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn and other connections in regional and long-distance traffic, the southeastern districts of Oberbilk and Wersten , as well as the Heinrich Heine University and connected to the botanical garden .

The U78 line is operated by the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn alone, the U79 line jointly with the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft . Both lines and high-floor light rail vehicles of the type B80D are used. On the U79 line, the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft also operates type B80C cars.

In the local transport plan 2002–2007 of the state capital Düsseldorf, the introduction of a new light rail line U80 is planned. For this, the construction of a bypass of the Düsseldorf exhibition center with a new underground station Messe-Süd is necessary. If this measure should be implemented, the underground station Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße is planned as a stop for this line.

The planning approval procedure for trunk line 5 , on which the U81 is to travel from Düsseldorf Hbf via Heinrich-Heine-Allee and Freiligrathplatz to Düsseldorf Airport , has been running since September 2015 . A new bridge is to be built from Freiligrathplatz over the Nordstern and then a tunnel to the airport terminal with an underground station there. The city plans to start construction in late 2019 [obsolete] and commissioning in 2023 Template: future / in 3 years. This line will also stop at the Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße underground station.
