The Ellerstraße underground station is a station on the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn . It lies in the course of the newly built southern route of the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf in Oberbilk .
location
The underground station itself is located at the junction of Ellerstrasse and Kölner Strasse . Kölner Straße is an important traffic artery in the district.
Station complex
The train station can be reached via escalators and an elevator. The upper level of the station is the distribution level and leads to the lower platform level. The latter has two side platforms where the lines towards Holthausen and towards Duisburg or Meerbusch / Am Seestern stop.
traffic
The Ellerstraße underground station is located on the first trunk line of the Düsseldorf light rail network. All three lines operating on this route serve the station. In addition to the transfer options between the individual tram lines, there are other transfer connections to three bus lines, which stop at an above-ground stop along Kölner Straße and connect to the Düsseldorf local transport network.
The neighboring city and the northern districts of Wittlaer , Kaiserswerth and Lohausen can be reached via the line from Duisburg . The lines branching off into the left bank of the Rhine connect the local districts of Oberkassel and Lörick as well as the neighboring town of Meerbusch . In the direction of the old town there is a connection to the central transfer point Heinrich-Heine-Allee. There you can change to several tram and bus lines and from 2014 to the third main route, the so-called Wehrhahn Line . In front of it is the Düsseldorf Hbf interchange station , which links the Stadtbahn with the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn and other regional and long-distance connections. In the further course of the first trunk line, the districts of Wersten , Holthausen and Benrath to the south , as well as the Heinrich Heine University and the Botanical Garden will be connected.
With one exception, all light rail lines are served by the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn alone. This forms the U79 line, which is operated jointly with the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft . For example, high-floor trams of the type B80C run on the U79 line operated by the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft . In addition, as on all other lines, type B80D wagons, also high-floor, are used here.
The following light rail lines serve the underground station:
