Rectory with enclosure Berufsschulstrasse 5
(map)
1935 Plastered building with quarry stone plinth and artificial stone elements, largely original church building from the 1930s, evidence of architectural development during the Nazi era, significance in terms of building history and church history.

The parsonage was built in 1935 according to plans by the Oschatz master builder and architect Erhardt Mädler, the building owner was the parish of Oschatz, represented by Pastor Otto, deputy chairman of the church council. The construction company Moritz Jesch (Oschatz) was responsible for the execution. It is a two-storey, cubic building with a high hipped roof, which is erected on sloping terrain, so that the basement appears as a full storey on the back and is accessible at ground level. On the south side there is a single-storey extension with an exit for the upper floor. Facades plastered over quarry stone plinths, relaxed facade structure through different window formats, on the symmetrically divided front facade centrally arranged house entrance with strong framing in artificial stone. The windows also have artificial stone walls. The roadside fence consists of a base and posts made of quarry stone, and the iron fence panels were renewed in GDR times. The building, which has largely been preserved in its historical state, is a rare example of a new rectory building in Saxony during the Nazi era. It thus gains importance in church history. As a typical testimony to the development of architecture in the 1930s, which was characterized by a conscious turn to traditionalist, so-called homeland-related building forms, it also embodied an informative value in terms of building history. Particularly interesting is the implementation of the rectory building task, the solution of which hardly differs from the general private housing construction of the time.

In 1883, on the occasion of Martin Luther's 400th birthday, Luther trees were planted in many of the mostly Protestant-Lutheran locations. These trees are mostly in places in front of churches or other centrally located locations. The use of a beech tree is rather unusual. The majority of oaks and linden trees were planted. Further Luther trees were planted in 1917 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Reformation and in 1933 for the 450th birthday of Martin Luther.

  2. Stadtpark Oschatz:
As early as 1879, the city of Oschatz had acquired the site between Kleinforst and Naundorfer Weg from the Altoschatz manor through an exchange. In 1883, the city left plots near the leaning bridge to the beautification association for planting and in 1885 acquired the Bergesche house with field in order to build a city park on these areas. Urban funds were used to plant up to Naundorfer Weg, two large meadows, a small pond and a fountain. In 1888 the town bought the field on the hill that belonged to the vineyard and a small plot of fields adjacent to it, which the beautification association planted. The city planted the greater part of the valley near Kleinforst. The plant was mainly built according to plans and under the direction of the municipal building manager A. Richter and the gardener Streubel sen. executed.
The two parts of the park, separated by the Naundorfer Weg, should be viewed as a whole due to their history of creation and design. Historical plans from the 1880s show that not only the northern part of the park was part of A. Richter's design concept, but also the areas of the former vineyard. A survey from 1910 shows that the plans were largely implemented. The current stock still corresponds to this measurement with minor deviations.
In terms of design, the two parts have a different character. The area to the south is designed as an open, landscaped park area due to its more intensive use. The northern part is also landscaped, but has the character of a forest park.
The nature of the park as a monument is due in particular to its significance for the city of Oschatz in terms of urban history, urban planning and landscape design.
