The award ceremony took place in the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City . The band Molotov and the actress Ana de la Reguera took on the moderation .
The winners of the evening were the bands Maná and Panda , who each received three lenguas. Julieta Venegas was ahead of the nominations, but she was only named “Best Solo Artist” at the award ceremony.
