The film begins with Martin Luther's birth in 1483 and then describes his life in chronological order until his death in 1546. The places where he worked, for example Eisleben, the city where he was born, Eisenach, the city where he attended Latin school went and later entered the monastery, Erfurt, where he studied, and Wittenberg, the city in which he spent most of his life, are gradually introduced. Christian Brückner acted as narrator . When compiling the film, a large number of film clips from the NFP Teleart production Luther were used. The film has not yet been broadcast on television and has only been released on DVD. The film is included on DVD separately and partly as an additional DVD with the DVD release of the feature film Luther .
