The name of this street no longer exists today goes back to a Mr. Forner who owned a house in 1305 at Breiten Weg No. 83 with the name Zur kleine Lauenburg . This is how the name Fornerische Strasse arose , which in the course of time changed to Venedische Strasse . At times other street names were also in use for this street. Originally the eastern extension of the street was called Venedische Straße. This eastern part was called Rotekrebsstraße after 1700 . The smaller, narrow western part was actually nameless, but was mostly assigned to the eastern Venedian Strait. In 1683 a file says: Little house in the narrow alley that goes from Breite Weg to Venedische Straße. From 1700 a distinction was made between the eastern Great Venedian Street (later Rotekrebsstrasse) and the Little Venedian Street. After the eastern part was practically generally called Rotekrebsstraße from 1730, the name Venedische Straße remained for the western part.
The road ran from Breite Weg to the east to Grünearmstrasse . Today it would be a little north of the teachers' house and lead from Breite Weg to Weitlingstrasse . After the heavy destruction in World War II , however, the city was rebuilt during the GDR , which did not adhere to the urban structure that had grown. So the Venedische Strasse disappeared too. The westernmost part, the confluence with the Breite Weg, was built over with a prefabricated building.
