- The Tannenberg is the small, steep path west of the Sankt-Johannis-Kirche from the Johanniskirchhof to the Bonehauerufer . The name of the path goes back to the "Zur Tanne" house located here (Kniehauerufer No. 78). This house had been named since at least 1454 . Initially, the route itself was mostly without a name. Only from 1718 the name can be found in the city documents. However, around 1798 it was in use. After the severe destruction of the Second World War, the construction of the path was not rebuilt. The path itself was integrated into the new park. However, the name was abandoned.

- The name of the square in front of the Magdeburg City Theater on Otto-von-Guericke-Straße was intended to commemorate the so-called Battle of Tannenberg during the First World War , which was victorious for the German side . - This square was between the city theater and Otto-von-Guericke-Straße . In the course of the reconstruction of the city, which did not stick to the historically grown urban structure, after the destruction of the Second World War, this square was built over and no longer exists today. The ruins of the theater were demolished during the GDR era . A spacious green area was created at this point. After the fall of 1989, the area was then rebuilt. The square was roughly level with today's Maritim Hotel on the western side of the street. The square was only named after the city theater after the end of the Second World War and thus at a time when the theater had already been destroyed.

- This street ran parallel to the Breiten Weg , roughly in the area of the western part of today's Alleecenter shopping center. Initially, the road belonged to the goldsmiths bridge to the south. However, many carpenters settled in the northern part of the street. From 1755 a distinction was made between a carpenter's bridge and a goldsmith's bridge. In the course of the reconstruction of the city, which did not adhere to the grown urban structure after the severe destruction of the Second World War, the street was built over and therefore no longer exists today. During the GDR era, a central green area was created on the site. After the fall of 1989, a large shopping center was built here.

- The carpenter's passage was a small alley that led north from Peterstraße to Tischlerkrugstraße. In the course of the reconstruction of the city, which did not adhere to the grown urban structure after the severe destruction of the Second World War, the street was built over and therefore no longer exists today. During the GDR era, three prefabricated buildings were built on the site .

- The oldest known form of the name is Thronersberg. It is therefore speculated that the name could refer to the owner of the small elevation as actually being "Throner's Mountain". However, there is no evidence of a Throner family. Since the origin was unknown, there were many different forms of naming as early as the 17th century. The current name Tränsberg occurs for the first time in the 17th century, but originally only for the western, higher part of the street. The eastern part was originally without a name and was only named with paraphrases such as "Behind the blue lion" and "At the high gate".
