The street was named after the town of Jihlava , on the border of Bohemia and Moravia . It was renamed during the GDR era . Names of places from which the German population had been expelled after the Second World War or which no longer belonged to Germany should no longer appear.

Named after the village of Ihleburg north of Burg in Saxony-Anhalt .

Ilmenauer Strasse ; Westerhüsen district ; ZIP 39122

Named after the Thuringian city of Ilmenau . In this area, various streets bear the names of cities from Thuringia.

Ilsenburger Strasse ; Lemsdorf district ; ZIP 39118

The street was named in 1938 after the town of Ilsenburg in the Harz Mountains , west of Wernigerode in Saxony-Anhalt .

Ilse-Voigt-Strasse ; Prester district ; ZIP 39114

The naming of the street, decided on October 16, 2006, commemorates the actress and voice actress Ilse Voigt (1905–1990) who worked in Magdeburg . At the same time, three neighboring streets ( Christa-Johannsen-Straße , Willy-Rosen-Straße and Adele-Elkan-Straße ) were named after artists. All streets were newly built on a former barracks site and serve to develop the residential developments planned there. With the naming of artists, the series of names of the neighboring streets that had already been built a few years earlier should be continued. Writers had been honored there.

Ilsestrasse ; Lemsdorf district ; ZIP 39118

Today: Krokusweg (eastern section of Ilsestrasse; since November 14, 2002 )

Named after the Ilse river in the Harz Mountains . Originally the eastern extension of this street into the Magdeburg-Reform district was also called Ilsestrasse. However , when the Magdeburg Ring was built, Ilsestrasse was cut through. For several decades, both parts still bore the name Ilsestrasse. However, the city council decided in 2001 to rename such streets in order to avoid misdirection of e.g. B. to avoid rescue workers. After hearing the only resident of the eastern section, the name was changed by a city council resolution on November 14, 2002.

The street lies in the corridor from which the Elbe was bridged. The neighboring district is also called Brückfeld .

The road no longer exists today. Originally it ran between Schrotdorferstrasse and Braunehirschstrasse , in the north-western part of the old town. After the severe destruction of the Second World War in Magdeburg , a reconstruction took place, which was not based on the grown urban structure. The street was built over. In this area are now 10-storey DDR - panel buildings .

In the ears ; District Cracau ; ZIP 39114

In the first half of the 19th century, "Die Gehren" was the name given to a parcel of land along the road from Cracau to Prester , on which the Pfeiffer foundations were later established. It belonged to the Cracow Feldmark . A second parcel of the same name existed on Klusdamm . However, that was part of the Prester's field mark .

The road was built from 1933 . The neighboring Friedrich Krupp AG Grusonwerk initially built 15 semi-detached houses for employees here on a site originally intended for a possible factory expansion. By 1938 a total of 5 construction phases had been built in the vicinity. 7 streets of the first construction sections were given the first names of 7 children of the Krupp family . The Irmgard private path was therefore dedicated to Irmgard Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach , born in 1912 .
