Mario Kvesić (born January 12, 1992 ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player with Croatian roots. He is under contract with 1. FC Magdeburg and is a multiple Bosnian-Herzegovinian junior national player.

Career

NK Široki Brijeg

In his youth, Kvesić was active for the NK Široki Brijeg . In the 2010/11 season he made his debut on March 19, 2011 in the 1: 6 defeat against NK Zvijezda Gradačac . In the 90th minute he came on for Juan Manuel Varea .

In the following season 2011/12 he was able to achieve his first goal for Široki Brijeg on September 10, 2011. In the game against FK Velež Mostar , he came on in the 44th minute for Wagner Lago and scored the 2-0 final score in the 83rd minute. With a total of three goals and one template, he was involved in reaching second place in the Premijer Liga and thus the runner-up in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

NCR split

For the 2012/13 season he moved to Croatia for RNK Split . He made his debut for his new team on August 12, 2012 when he played against Dinamo Zagreb in the 1st HNL . In the 2-4 defeat, he came on in the 79th minute for Ivan Baraban . On his second appearance on September 30, 2012, he scored his first goal in the RNK Split jersey. In the 1-1 draw against NK Lokomotiva Zagreb , he came on for Aljosa Vojnovic in the 74th minute and scored the final score in the 86th minute.

In the 2013/14 season he finished fourth with his club. He was involved with 3 goals and four assists. As a result, the club was allowed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League in the 2014/15 season . In Israel he made his debut in the second leg against Hapoel Be'er Scheva at international club level. In the goalless draw he was substituted on for Aljosa Vojnovic in the 50th minute. With this draw and victory in the first leg, the team qualified for the qualifying round of the Europa League, where they met Torino . When the 0-0 in the first leg he was substituted in the 86th minute for Tomislav Dujmović . Due to a defeat in the second leg, the team was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League. In the same season he reached the final of the Croatian Cup with his club , but lost in the Maksimir stadium in Zagreb on penalties with 2: 4 against Dinamo Zagreb.

FC Erzgebirge Aue

For the 2015/16 season, Kvesić moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue and was officially presented on August 8, 2015 after the 1-0 victory in the DFB Cup against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He celebrated his debut for the second division relegated on August 15, 2015. In the 2-0 win against the Stuttgarter Kickers , he was substituted on by coach Pavel Dotchev in the 33rd minute for the injured Nicky Adler . He scored his first goal in the third division in the 1-0 win against the second team of VfB Stuttgart on January 30, 2016, when he scored the final score in the 54th minute with a penalty. At the end of the season he had four goals and three assists and the team came second in the third division and thus promoted to the second division .

1. FC Magdeburg

After four years in Aue, the Bosnian signed a one-year contract with 1. FC Magdeburg, who had been relegated to the 3rd division in the summer of 2019 .
