Martin Schöneich (* 1955 in Grünstadt ) is a German sculptor .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a model carpenter in Frankenthal (Palatinate) in 1970, Martin Schöneich began studying sculpture and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1978 . In 1982 he became a master student of Erich Koch and in 1984 he graduated in sculpture. He has been a freelance sculptor and graphic artist since 1985 .

Teaching

  • Since 1989: working with children and young people in schools; "Projects" in Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg.
  • From 1990 to 1995: Lecturer for sculpture and life drawing at the art school "Villa Wieser" in Herxheim / Landau,
  • since 2003: Project manager at the all-day school in Bad Bergzabern and
  • since 2008: Lecturer at the Heidelberg University of Education .

Schöneich lives and works in Bad Bergzabern , Southern Wine Route district .

Schöneich's large sculptures and works in the context of art in architecture are works of constructive art. The combination of sandstone and steel creates complex geometric shapes. They are composed of elements such as segments of circles, spheres, cubes or cylinders.
