Matthew Brandon Ross (born January 3, 1970 in Greenwich , Connecticut ) is an American actor , director and screenwriter . He was best known for his roles in film productions such as In the Beginning It Was Love , The Last Days of Disco , Stephen King's House of Damnation , Aviator or Good Night, and Good Luck.

life and career

Matthew Brandon Ross was born in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1970. He moved to New York from Ashland, Oregon , to graduate from the Juilliard School of Drama . After graduating from Julliard, he studied at New York University in order to concentrate fully on a career as a film and television actor.

Ross played numerous cinema roles in the 1990s, including in Terry Gilliam's science fiction film 12 Monkeys in 1995, the male lead in John Walsh's romantic comedy In the Beginning It Was Love , in 1997 in John Woo's thriller In the Body of the Enemy . In 1998 he was cast in Whit Stillman's musical film The Last Days of Disco and in Stephen Gyllenhaal's crime film Homegrown . In 1999 he starred in Mike Newell's comedy Turbulence - and Other Disasters alongside John Cusack , Billy Bob Thornton , Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie .

In the 2000s, he impersonated roles on screen in Mary Harron's psychological thriller American Psycho , the comedies Cuba libre - Dumber Than the CIA Allowed and Down with Love - To the devil with love! .
