Maure-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Anast ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Val d'Anast with 3,487 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . The inhabitants are called Mauritania (ne) s .

On January 1, 2017, Maure-de-Bretagne was merged with Campel to form the Commune nouvelle Val d'Anast. The municipality of Maure-de-Bretagne belonged to the Arrondissement Redon and was part of the canton of Guichen (until 2015: canton of Maure-de-Bretagne ).

geography

Maure-de-Bretagne is about 33 kilometers southwest of Rennes . Before the merger, Maure-de-Bretagne was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Campel, Maxent and Bovel in the north, La Chapelle-Bouëxic in the northeast, Mernel and Guignen in the east, Lohéac in the southeast, Lieuron , Pipriac and Saint-Séglin in the south, and Quelneuc in the Southwest, Les Brulais and Guer in the west and Loutehel in the northwest.

The former Route nationale 772 runs through the former municipality from Redon to Rennes . The place had a train station on the former railway line Châteaubriant - Ploërmel .
