NGC 5393 is a 13.1 likes bright barred spiral galaxy with pronounced emission lines from the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Hydra . It is estimated to be 264 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on March 30, 1835 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, who noted "vF, R, glbM, 25 arcseconds".
