Nelson Story

Nelson Story Jr. (* 1874 in Bozeman , Montana ; †  1932 there ) was an American politician . Between 1921 and 1925 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Montana.

Career

Nelson Story was the son of the same name Nelson Story (1838-1926), who was a wealthy rancher in Montana. Nothing is known about his youth and school education. He later embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1904 he was a substitute delegate to the Republican National Convention , at which President Theodore Roosevelt was nominated for re-election. From 1905 to 1907 he was mayor of his hometown Bozeman.

In 1920 Story was elected lieutenant governor of Montana alongside Joseph Dixon . He held this office between 1921 and 1925. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died in 1932. His date of death is as little known as his date of birth.
