Bill Christiansen

Edward William "Bill" Christiansen (born February 24, 1914 in Fargo , North Dakota , †  March 28, 2000 ) was an American politician . Between 1973 and 1977 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Montana .

Career

Bill Christiansen graduated from Fargo High School and then studied at North Dakota State University . From 1947 he lived in the town of Hardin , Montana, where he worked as a partner in a Ford agency in the automotive business. In Hardin he became a respected citizen who was a member of numerous organizations and associations. In 1969 he moved to Helena , the capital of the state of Montana. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1965 and 1973 he was a member of the House of Representatives in Montana , where he headed the Democratic Group in 1971.

In 1972 Christiansen was elected lieutenant governor of Montana alongside Thomas Lee Judge . He held this office between 1973 and 1977. He was Deputy Governor . In his capacity as lieutenant governor, he also held several other political offices at the state level. After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he withdrew from politics. He died on March 28, 2000 and was buried in Helena.
