The Nordenskiöld Land National Park ( Norwegian Nordenskiöld Land nasjonalpark ) is a 1,362 km² national park on the Nordenskiöld Land peninsula on the Norwegian island of Svalbard . The national park includes 1,207 km² mainland and 155 km² sea area. The park is one of seven national parks on Svalbard. It was founded in 2003.
The national park includes alpine terrain, the flat Nordenskiöld coast, Berzeliusdalen and Reindalen.
Reindalen is the largest glacier-free valley on Svalbard. Due to its climate and the nature of the soil, it is particularly fertile and has large areas of vegetation. Accordingly, many reindeer live here , which is what gave the valley its name. At the lower end of the valley is Stormyra, a river delta with wetlands and raised bogs .
On the slopes of Ingeborgfjell in the southwest of the national park there are large breeding colonies of alken birds , kittiwakes and fulmars .
