North American Open 2013

The 2013 North American Open took place February 20-25 , 2013 at the Westwood Club in Richmond , Virginia , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2012/13 and belonged to the World Series Gold category .

Defending champion was James Willstrop , who reached the semifinals that year. He was eliminated from the eventual tournament winner Ramy Ashour from Egypt after four sets. In the final, the top seeded Ashour defeated the second seeded Englishman Nick Matthew with 11: 7, 11: 8, 5:11 and 11: 7. For Ashour this was the second title win in Richmond after 2009 and the second World Series title of the current season.

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 115,000.
