The OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open 2016 was a ladies tennis tournament of the WTA Challenger Series 2016 . The fifth edition of the carpet court tournament, introduced in 2012, took place in Taipei from November 14-20, 2016 .

The defending champions were Tímea Babos in singles and Kanae Hisami / Kotomi Takahata in doubles .

Qualification for the OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open 2016 took place on November 13, 2016. Four places were played for participation in the main draw of the tournament.
