Olympic Winter Games 1924 / Participant (Italy)
Italy took part in the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix with a delegation of 19 athletes in 2 sports. The Italian NOK had registered 30 athletes for the games, 19 of whom took part in competitions. The members of the military patrol do not count as official Olympic participants.
Result: The Italian Olympic team traveled to Chamonix as a blatant outsider and without a chance for a medal. The brothers Enrico and Vincenzo Colli as well as Giuseppe Ghedina , Benigno Ferrera and Antonio Herin ensured with places between 9 and 13 that the Italians were among the best non-Scandinavian skiers in Chamonix, but their performance remained largely unnoticed by the spectators. The sixth place of the bobsleigh of pilot Lodovico Obexer was more of a coincidence, especially since only six bobsleighs finished the races.
