There were four runs in the men's four-man bobsleigh at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games . The first two runs were held on February 26th, the third and fourth runs on the following day. The competition was held at the Whistler Sliding Center .
The reigning world champions in bobsleigh USA I with Steven Holcomb , Steve Mesler , Curtis Tomasevicz and Justin Olsen were also able to secure the Olympic victory. This was the first gold medal in four-man bobsleigh for the United States since 1948. The defending champions André Lange , Kevin Kuske and Martin Putze took second place together with the new push-man Alexander Rödiger , who replaced René Hoppe . Bronze went to the Canadian bobsled by Lyndon Rush with his pushers David Bissett , Lascelles Brown and Chris le Bihan .
The first two runs took place on February 26th at 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. (local time). Runs three and four were held one day later at 1:00 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.
Pilot Steven Holcomb's bobsleigh set the fastest times in the first two races, while defending champion André Lange's bobsleigh had the fastest start times in the first two races. The Bob Russia II with pilot Alexander Subkow crashed in the first run because one of its control cables broke. The Austrian I and Slovakia I bobsleighs also crashed in the first run. The Bobsleigh Germany I um Lange was able to achieve the fastest two start times and the fastest track time in the last run in the last two races. Holcomb, on the other hand, was able to set the fastest course time in the third run. After three runs, the Canadian bobsleigh from Rush took second place, but Lange and his team beat the Canadians by 0.01 seconds in the fourth run. This was also the long last bobsleigh race.
