Proletarskoje ( Russian Пролетарское , German  Legnitte , Lithuanian Legnyčiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg Region (Prussia) ). It belongs to the Pogranitschnoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Pogranitschny (Hermsdorf) ) in the Bagrationovsk district ( Prussian Eylau district ).

Geographical location

Proletarskoje is located southeast of Novo-Moskowskoje (Poplitten) and south of the railway line from Kaliningrad (Königsberg) to Mamonowo (Heiligenbeil) and on to Poland (section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway ) and is 23 kilometers from the former district town of Mamonowo.

history

Before 1945, the villagescape of the place previously called Legnitte consisted of widely scattered large and small farms. The village was first mentioned in 1407.

Between 1874 and 1945 Legnitten was in the District Pörschken incorporated and belonged to the district Heiligenbeil in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 236 inhabitants were registered here, in 1933 there were already 345 and in 1939 305.

In 1945 Legnitt came to the Soviet Union with its districts Albeneck (Vorwerk), Grünwehr (Gut) and Praußen (Gut) together with northern East Prussia and in 1947 received the Russian name " Proletarskoje ". By 2009 the place was incorporated into the Pogrniatschni selski soviet ( Dorfsovjet Pogranitschny (Hermsdorf) ) and since then - due to a structural and administrative reform - it has been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) within the newly formed Pogranitschnoje selskoje posselenije (Pogranitschny rural community). This means that the place is no longer in the Heiligenbeil district as it was before 1945 , but now belongs to the Bagrationowsk Rajon ( Prussian Eylau district ).

church

Before 1945 the vast majority of the residents of Legnittens were of the Protestant denomination. The village was in the parish of Pörschken , which belonged to the church district Heiligenbeil (today Russian: Mamonowo) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Bruno Link .

Today Proletarskoje lies in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Novo-Moskovskoye (Poplitten) , which was newly founded in the 1990s . It is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
