The Radeberger Gruppe KG , based in Frankfurt am Main, is the largest brewery group in Germany . It produces beer and non-alcoholic beverages at 16 locations .

history

With the acquisition of the majority of shares in the Binding Brewery by Dr. August Oetker KG , the Oetker Group's business division responsible for beer and non-alcoholic beverages, was established in 1952. In July 2002 the Binding Group was renamed the Radeberger Group .

Well-known brands such as Radeberger Pilsner, Jever, Freiberger, Allgäuer Brauhaus (Kempten), Schöfferhofer Weizen, Selters and Tucher are managed under the umbrella of the group. The total turnover of this division is around 1.9 billion euros (2019). According to its own information, the Radeberger Group has a market share of 15 percent in Germany with beverage sales of 13 million hectoliters.

On April 2, 2014, the Federal Cartel Office imposed on the Radeberger Group as well as several other breweries in Germany and the Verband Rheinisch-Westfälischer Brauereien e. V. Fines for prohibited price fixing for beer totaling 231.2 million euros.

At the end of 2017, the Radeberger Group sold the Bionade brand to the beverage manufacturer Hassia Mineralquellen from Bad Vilbel .

As of December 31, 2017, the Barth-Haas-Group listed Radeberger in 20th place of the 40 largest brewery groups in the world.

In addition, the Radeberger Group sells the brands Krušovice Královský Pivovar , Guinness and Kilkenny draft and bottled beer as well as Stowford Cider products in Germany. The Royal Brewery Krušovice in the Czech Republic, which belonged to the Radeberger Group from 1994 to 2007, was acquired by Heineken in June 2007 . However, sales in Germany will continue to be carried out by the Radeberger Group. From 2015 the group will also be producing and selling products from PepsiCo.
