Ramsin Azizsir (born June 12, 1991 in Hof / Saale ) is a German wrestler .

Career

Ramsin Azizsir was born to Iranian / Hungarian parents in Hof / Saale and began wrestling there as a teenager at ASV Hof. He was trained by Horst Zeh and Roland Kastner. He concentrated entirely on the Greco-Roman style and was already very successful as a junior on a national and then also on an international level. Since 2009 he has been a member of the sports promotion company of the Bundeswehr in Bruchsal and is trained by Markus Scherer and Jannis Zamanduridis .

In 2007 he became German champion in the A-youth (intern. Designation: Juniors) in the weight class up to 76 kg body weight. At the European Junior Championships of the Cadets age group in Warsaw in the same year he came in 11th place in the same weight class. In 2008 he was again German champion in the A-youth and came at the Junior European Championships in Daugavpils , back in the weight category to 76 kg body weight after victories over the Hungarians Baloghi and Attila Tamas of Romania geen and one defeat Aslan breath from Turkey to the 8th place.

In 2009 Ramsin Azizsir won the title of German junior champion (age group up to 20 years of age) in the middleweight division for the first time and then celebrated the greatest success of his wrestling career so far at the European junior championship in Tbilisi , because he was there with victories over Martin Nilsson, Norway , Cyril Vescan , France , David Gamsatow, Russia , Artur Alexanjan, Armenia and Murtaza Tagchijew , Azerbaijan, European junior champions . Before the Junior World Championships in Ankara in 2009 , he injured himself in training, so that he could not compete there with full strength. He therefore lost his first fight against Artur Alexanjan there just on points and had to retire early because Alexanjan did not reach the final fight. This year he was also at the start of the German Senior Championships and, when he was not even eighteen , he finished 3rd behind Jan Fischer , KSV Köllerbach and Bernhard Mayr , SC Anger .

In 2010 Ramsin Azizsir was again German junior middleweight champion, only came in 9th place at the German senior championships after a loss to Bernhard Mayr. At the European Junior Championships 2010 in Samokow / Bulgaria , he could not defend his middleweight title because he suffered a 1: 2-round defeat against the Frenchman Cyril Vescan. Since Vescan did not reach the final fights, he could not continue in the consolation round and took 14th place.

In 2011, Ramsin Azizsir was surprisingly beaten on points at the German junior middleweight championship in the final by Peter Öhler, VfK Mühlenbach , and therefore “only” came second. Instead, he caused a surprise at the German senior championship a few weeks later when in Herbrechtingen he beat multiple German champion and two-time medalist at European championships Jan Fischer in the first fight on points. In the further course of this championship he also defeated Peter Öhler and in the final battle Rene Zimmermann from RSV Hansa 90 Frankfurt (Oder) and thus became German senior champions for the first time at the age of 19.

In 2011 he returned to the road to success on the international wrestling mat. At the European Junior Championships in Zrenjanin he defeated Carl Persson from Sweden, Pawel Pamitschuk, Belarus and Mowsar Duguchiew, Russia in the middleweight division and was in the final against Chan Belentschuk from Ukraine , to whom he delivered an open fight, but which he was just on points lost (0: 1, 0: 2). At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Bucharest he won his first fight over Dimitrios Papadopoulos from Greece, but lost his second fight just against Tadeusz Michalik from Poland, with which he was eliminated and only finished 11th.

In the following years it turned out that the way to the top is very difficult for the men. Both at the 2012 European Championships in Belgrade and at the 2013 European Championships in Tbilisi, he lost in the first round against Jim Eric Pettersson from Sweden and Antti Hakala from Finland and only finished 19th and 20th respectively Participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he could not qualify. But he was able to draw hope again through an excellent 3rd place at the “Wladyslaw Pytlasinski” Memorial 2013 in Warsaw, where a large part of the world's elite was gathered.

At the 2014 World Championships in Tashkent , he reached fifth place. In the battle for bronze he was defeated by the Ukrainian European champion Jan Belentschuk . Before that, he had only just lost 3-2 against vice world champion Saman Tahmasebi from Azerbaijan.

In October 2014, Ramsin Azizsir became CISM military world champion in Fort Dix / United States. In the final he defeated Damian Janikowski from Poland.

He achieved another great success in June 2015 at the European Championship held as part of the 1st European Games in Baku. He won a bronze medal there in the middleweight division. On the way to this medal he defeated Damian Janikowski, then lost to Dawit Tschakwetadze , Russia and beat Amer Hrustanovic , Austria and Neven Zugaj from Croatia on points.

Ramsin Azizsir narrowly missed the jump to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. For this he managed to win another medal at the European Wrestling Championships 2017 | European Championships 2017 in Novi Sad. After a great competition in which he defeated Andrei Michailoowski, Belarus and Maksim Manukjan in the middleweight division, he lost in the semifinals to Metehan Bazaar from Turkey with a tie of 3: 3 only because of the higher score Bazaar. In the battle for the bronze medal , he defeated Yuri Schkriuba from Ukraine just 1-0 points.
