Jan Fischer (wrestler)
Jan Fischer (born April 29, 1986 in Saarbrücken ) is a German wrestler . He is multiple medal winner at European championships and multiple German champion in the Greco-Roman style in middleweight .
Career
Jan Fischer started wrestling as a teenager in 1994. He is a member of KSV Köllerbach and was or is trained by Oleg Kutscherenko , Thomas Geid, Frank Hartmann and in the national team by Maik Bullmann . He learned the trade of a cutting machine operator and is now a student after attending a technical college. For some time he was also a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Bruchsal . As a wrestler, he prefers the Greco-Roman style. As an adult he wrestles with a height of 1.82 meters in the middleweight category, the weight class up to 84 kg body weight.
In 2002 Jan Fischer won his first German championship title in youth B in the weight class up to 63 kg. In the junior division, a German championship title followed in 2004 in youth A in the weight class up to 76 kg. In the same year he was also German junior welterweight champion. In 2006 he took 3rd place at the German senior middleweight championship behind Björn Holk from Witten and Bernhard Mayr from Burghausen . In the years 2007 to 2010 he was then four times in a row German middleweight champion.
In 2003 his international career began with a start at the Junior European Championship (Cadets) in Rostov / Don in the class up to 69 kg body weight. He took 5th place there. In 2004 he won 3rd place at the European Junior Championships in Murska Sobota in the welterweight division. He won the same medal at the European Junior Championships in Wrocław in 2005 , but in the middleweight division. He achieved the greatest international success in his junior years in 2006 when he finished 2nd at the World Middleweight Championship in Guatemala City . On the way to this success he defeated u. a. Christo Marinow from Bulgaria and Oleg Scholakow from Russia . He lost the final fight against Cenk İldem from Turkey .
With the participation in the European Championships 2007 in Sofia he started for the first time in an international championship with the seniors. He defeated the Slovak Attila Bátky 6: 0, Alo Toom from Estonia , Andrea Minguzzi from Italy and the Finns Kim-Jussi Nurmela with 2: 0 rounds and 5: 1 techn. Points. In the final battle, however, he lost against multiple world champion Alexei Mischin with 0: 2 rounds and 0: 6 techn. Points and became vice European champion . At the World Championships of the same year in Baku he won victories over Mats Rolfson, Norway, Adrian Mocanu, Moldova and Bolat Abdullajew, Azerbaijan and lost to Brad Vering from the United States and Hassan Tahmasebi from Iran. In an additional fight for 8th place, Jan Fischer also lost to Zoltán Fodor from Hungary and with the 9th place just missed the qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing, which he would have secured with 8th place. At the end of 2007 he was named Wrestler of the Year by the DRB Presidium .
At the European Championships in Tampere in 2008 , he won the middleweight division over Tigran Sahakjan, Armenia , Robert Papp , Romania and Wassyl Rachyba, Ukraine . He then lost to Badri Chassaia and then faced Andrea Minguzzi in the fight for an EM bronze medal . The Olympic qualification also beckoned to the winner of this fight. Fischer led in this fight until 3 seconds before the end of the fight, but was still surprised by Minguzzi and lost this fight with 1: 2 rounds. A few months later, Minguzzi even became Olympic champion in Beijing . Jan Fischer then failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in the Olympic qualification tournaments in Rome and Novi Sad . A 3rd place at the World Military Championship in Split in 2008 in the middleweight division behind Artur Michalkiewicz from Poland and Andrei Baranowski from Belarus was certainly little consolation for him.
In 2009 Jan Fischer took revenge against Andrea Minguzzi at an international tournament in Sassari , when he defeated the newly crowned Olympic champion on points in the final. After he had renounced the participation in the European championship in 2009, he lost at the world championship this year in Herning / Denmark against Bolat Abdullajew, whom he had defeated at the world championship in 2007, was eliminated and only ended up in 28th place.
Then in 2010 he succeeded at the European Championships in Baku with wins over Laimutis Adomaitis from Lithuania , arsenic Kachabrischwili from Georgia and Lennie Persson from Sweden , a defeat in the semi-final against his nemesis Alexei Mishin and a win over Anton Babko Maly from the Ukraine again to win a medal, the bronze one. At the 2010 World Cup in Moscow , he first won over Christoffer Ljungbäck from Sweden, but this time he lost to Laimutis Adomaitis (1: 2 rounds, 1: 2 technical points) in his second fight and therefore only reached 16th place.
By the way, Jan Fischer showed how hard Jan Fischer can wrestle in the years 2008 to 2010, when he managed to defeat the following wrestlers on various occasions, some of them several times: Andrea Minguzzi , Olympic champion 2008, Mark Overgaard Madsen , Denmark , vice world champion 2009 (welterweight), Artur Michalkiewicz , Poland, European champion 2006, Zoltán Fodor , Hungary , silver medalist 2008, Melonin Noumonvi , France , vice world champion 2009 and Pablo Shorey Hernandez , Cuba, vice world champion 2010.
The 2011 European Championships in Dortmund , in which he was preferred by national coach Maik Bullmann to Ramsin Azizsir , who had defeated him at the German championships, was disappointing for Jan Fischer. He came in middleweight wins over Saman Tahmasebi , Azerbaijan, after all, two-time bronze medalist at world championships, Theodorus Tounousidis , Greece and ex-world champion Alim Selimow , Belarus, but in the semifinals against the only 20-year-old Russian newcomer Alan Chugajew and then in the fight for the bronze medal against Artur Shahinyan from Armenia he could not convince and lost both fights on points, with which he missed the medals and took 5th place. At the 2011 World Championships, Jan Fischer met the 2008 Olympic champion Andrea Minguzzi in his very first fight, against whom he lost very thinly on points (1: 2 rounds, 2: 2 points). Since Minguzzi did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came in 24th place.
In 2013 he only finished 5th in the German middleweight championship and did not start this year or in 2013 at any international championships.
In 2014 he competed at the European Championships in Vantaa / Finland, where he won middleweight wins over Samba Diong, France and Maksim Manukjan, Armenia, then lost to Rami Hietaniemi from Finland and in the battle for a bronze medal also to Poland's Damian Janikowski . But with that he took a good 5th place.
