The WT Cosgrave 5 government was the fourth Executive Council of the Irish Free State , serving from October 11, 1927 to April 3, 1930.

In the parliamentary elections on September 15, 1927 , Cumann na nGaedheal (CG) , which had ruled since 1923, was the strongest party with 65 of 155 seats and, with the support of the Farmers's Party (FP) and several independent MPs, formed the government.

William Thomas Cosgrave was re-elected on October 11th with 76 to 70 votes. The ministers were elected by the Dáil the following day. The appointment of the members of the Executive Board was made by Governor General Timothy Michael Healy . All members of the government belonged to Cumann na nGaedheal (CG), with the exception of the Chairman of the Farmers' Party, Michael Heffernan , who became Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Post and Telegraphy.

When the government lost 64 to 66 in the vote on the Old Age Pensions Bill, Cosgrave announced his resignation on March 28, 1930.
