De Valera Government 3
The De Valera 3 government was the sixth Executive Council of the Irish Free State , serving from March 9, 1932 to February 8, 1933.
In the parliamentary election on February 16, 1932 was Fianna Fáil (FF) with 72 of 153 seats strongest party and dissolved the ruling since 1922 Cumann na nGaedheal from. On March 9, 1932 Eamon de Valera (FF ) was elected President of the Executive Council (Head of Government) by 81 votes against 68 by the Dáil Éireann (Parliament). The ministers were elected by the Dáil on the same day. The appointment of the members of the Executive Board was made by Governor General James McNeill . The parliamentary secretaries were appointed by the Executive Council the following day. All members of the government belonged to the Fianna Fáil.
In the following parliamentary election on February 8, 1933 , Fianna Fáil was able to achieve an absolute majority with 78 members.
