In 71 competitive games Kapić was able to contribute 18 goals and three assists.
For the second half of the 2017/18 season , the midfielder moved to Grasshopper Club Zurich on a free transfer , with whom he narrowly escaped relegation, but was only eliminated in the cup in the semi-finals against city rivals FC Zurich . This was followed in the summer of 2018 by a six-month loan deal with the Moldovan record champion Sheriff Tiraspol , with which Kapić won his 17th national championship title.
After his return, the Bosnian did not play another competitive game for the Swiss, who instead awarded him to his training club FK Sarajevo for the return series of the 2018/19 season. With the capital club Kapić won the double of the championship and the cup .
After his return from home, the Grasshoppers, relegated to the second division , sold the midfielder to the German Bundesliga promoted SC Paderborn 07 , where he received a contract valid until June 2022. In the first half of the season, however, he was only used three times for the league team.
