plant
Rolf Iseli is one of the most important representatives of the artistic avant-garde in Switzerland in the post-war period.
Until 1966, Iseli mainly painted oil paintings in the Informel style . After 1966 there were no more oil paintings, only lithographs, copperplate engravings, watercolors and collages. From 1969 he also made cast iron objects with three-dimensional room design. From 1971 onwards he created works as "material painting" and his "earth pictures", in which he used sand and earth, as well as rushes and nails (e.g. "Big Cake", 1971). From the mid-1970s onwards, he produced many large-format prints.
